I love working #ConceptArt. Re-designing things or exploring completely new ideas from scratch. The iteration process of it. Trying to explore an idea while tying to make it workable withing the art direction & style constraints.
It scratches the creativity & problem solving itch at the same time.
My re design of an ettercap Exploring various ideas for a 'fungus moth' Ideas for a fantasy animal pen. A series of images showing the iteration process to develop ideas.

'bad for the hobby' and 'rightly upset' is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
I don't think we are going to be on the same page I'm afraid.

I'm not asking anyone to go to bat for GW.
I'm saying companies will defend their IP, its silly to think they wont. That people may be using incorrect understanding of legal terms, and incomplete info to form their opinion on certain cases.
pantmonger.bsky.social
Which is an ironic catch 22.
Those small enough to not catch ire when protecting themselves, can't afford to. Once you can, apparently you should not. :P

If you don't like current IP laws, then that is a valid area to campaign for change in your country.
If you don't like when companies use laws to protect their IP, You can not buy from them, but if they have the cash, they are going to do it.
I would if I had the cash. Having stuff 'stolen', sucks.

Folk. I love you all, your passion & zeal.
But please remember:
IP law *will* be enforced regardless of your feeling on the topic.
People facing legal action may not be telling the whole truth.
Phrases & words in legal situations often have meanings different then what the word commonly means.

After years of struggle, I bought a massive table then DIY made it even wider and I love it :)

Thanks.
Its part of a pack I make, and am currently updating for 2024ed

I have definitely considered this.
In the mean time, I use a laser pointer and make my players move stuff for me :P
pantmonger.bsky.social
Changing up the orientation for this campaign, now side on so I can move minis more easily (Still cant reach the far side of the mini tray, big table is big.
Soon...
My game rooms DnD/Wargaming table set up for dnd. Players have a bunch of space and there is a dedicated minis and maps fenced off area.

I'll run a solo play test or 2 to work out any kinks before the players get involved. But I think it will be fun.

Players run though the streets with a lead. Dinos come from behind.
The bigger ones knock you on your ass as they pass if you don't dodge.
Deinonychus are trained to attack, give you a nip, get thrown a treat, & move on.
Compsognathus are everywhere, if they bite you they hang on & slow you down.

The dinosaur races in Port Nyanzaru are conceptually cool. But in practice dull. It's hard to justify the PCs being riders in a specialized event, never mind being good, & it boils down to a bunch of rolls.
Instead I'm having 'The running of the dinos' any fool can enter but can you get to the end!

"HMAS Diamantina, named after the Diamantina River in Queensland, is a River-class frigate that served the Royal Australian Navy. Constructed in the mid-1940s"
I don't actually know much military stuff, I just like boats :P

Every time I look at starting a new DnD campaign, I bemoan my inability to source war band sized collections of DnD specific monster minis.
12-15 grung
A pack of nothics
A gaggle of fire newts on and off mounts.
Forrest of Tri-flower fronds
Forget about it!

My DnD purity test is if DMs can spell 'Otyugh' without looking it up. :P

Folk drop me a line with the silliest of the stuff, as it plays out.
Damn enablers :P

Sub category - Break glass if desperate.

As I work though Tomb of Annihilation I tend to transcribe locations and plots into my own shorthand for quick reference and because I remember things better for having done it.
Just got to a particular sub plot.
My notes:
Plot Fairy. Puts party on the path to answers if they are floundering. 🙄

It always makes me think of Buffy.
Xander: What!? How..? What!?
Giles: 3 excellent questions.

And it never ends. They flit from one fiction to the next oft contradictory one, with barely a moments pause.
It's entertaining to watch, but no one should ever take these clowns seriously.

Its certainly a thing... that he wrote...

48 hours earlier he was saying "those are Asian, silly wokehammer." They turn on a dime.

There was so much more.
It has so many steps, conjectures, unknowable data points paraded as true facts, and ends with "I can't prove this but..."
