Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto just threw the first complete game in the postseason in eight years. The last one: Justin Verlander on this very day in 2017 in Game 2 of the ALCS. After a leadoff home run, Yamamoto was near-perfect, and the Dodgers now lead the NLCS, 2-0.

Albert, 44, served as hitting coach for the St. Louis Cardinals and joined the Mets in 2022. New York’s farm system is teeming with good young bats, and the plan is to have Albert run hitting at the major league level and complement him with another hitting coach, sources said.
