Last for days, no wire in the way, big enough to not get lost or tangled, not particularly expensive..

I'm gonna toss this

Has Mike Puma leaked anything about Keith Hernandez's demands for his new SNY/Mets contract yet?

Troegs Nugget Nectar, probably my favorite beer. #barleyprose

The Democrats are the conservatives, and all the wish-casting about "If we win elections they just need to.." stuff is frustrating. We need to create another party, unless there's a way to completely and utterly run a coup from within.
SCHUMER says Democrats are “united” behind three DHS reforms

1/ End roving patrols; tighten the rules on warrants and require ICE to coordinate with local authorities.

2/ Enforce accountability; a uniform code of conduct.

3/ Require masks off, body cameras on, agents carry ID.

Soda bread in the oven, sauce cooking on the stove... Chilling with some Minecraft before third grade basketball. "DOWN WITH HIGHLANDS"

Does anybody even freaking read anymore? No? *Sigh*

Don't put things on the Internet you don't want on the Internet.

We always shoot for the moon during Mets broadcasts
January 23, 2026 at 5:33 PM
wtf this is terrible. Almost everything you think is good about Mets broadcasts is because of him.
@johndemarsico.bsky.social just announced on Twitter that he he is no longer directing games for SNY. Most devastating loss of the offseason by far!

SEO "Content" creators and aggregators have been flooding the web with repetative generic nonsense for years. (hundreds of people 'writing up' the same press releases..)

The solution is, and has always been, to shine a light on content you like, and not let algorithms tells us what to consume.

“For the past few years, skeptics have warned that generative AI could lead to cultural stagnation by flooding the web with synthetic content that future AI systems then train on. Over time, this recursive loop would narrow diversity and innovation”
AI-induced cultural stagnation is no longer speculation − it’s already happening
AI-mediated culture is already being filtered in ways that favor the familiar, the describable and the conventional.

Imo anybody can wear any number they want. Hell, let's go full hexadecimal. Anything up to F (excluding E though)
January 22, 2026 at 8:28 PM
objectively incorrect, the literal last word is beer, which is ..I dunno, top 3 words that exist?
every word of this sucks more than the last
January 22, 2026 at 3:35 PM
Look, obviously he's going to say that but it's also eyewash. He was just in the World Series and the Mets crashed and burned.
Bo's in it to win it.
January 22, 2026 at 3:26 PM
Are we pretending we were wrong to bemoan losing some of our favs? Or that volume of transactions or every move was clearly the plan or even a good move?

Just like a slow November didn't lose them any games, a busy January didn't win them any. They've won the offseason before.
@JeffPassan tweeted
Within the last week, the New York Mets have added the frontline starter they needed, the big bat they needed and the center fielder they needed.

Offseasons are long. A slow November and December does not preclude a monster January. And that's exactly what the Mets unleashed.

OR it was always bad
Deleted my comment on the Jung Hoo Lee situation because it seems like the kind of thing that happens not infrequently to foreign born baseball players around this time of year and not an overreach by CBP. Visa stuff does happen around spring training.

If I tell someone overseas I'm from New Jersey, I feel like I'm more likely to get "Oh, like the Sopranos?" than hate.

If I tell 'em I'm from New York, we can hate the Yankees together.

When I went to Oktoberfest in 2012 the only hate I got was some moron from the Bronx.
January 21, 2026 at 2:54 PM
Interesting.

Although Luis Robert Jr. hasn't been particularly good the last two years, and it's not even really apparent why.

Like Tyrone Taylor levels the last two years. But lots of upside to the #Mets for sure.
@JeffPassan tweeted
Full trade, per ESPN sources:

Mets receive: CF Luis Robert Jr.

White Sox receive: IF Luisangel Acuña and RHP Truman Pauley

Well deserved
Baseball immortality.

Carlos Beltrán is heading to Cooperstown! 👏

I mean, they're also regularly reported as some sketchy stuff in the Caribbean, etc.
I can't tell how much of this is a joke/sarcasm/whatever but I do think it is important to note that the Dodgers consistently have a highly ranked farm system. the Dodgers really should be held as the standard of how all 30 teams should be operating.
No need for a minor league system when the Dodgers can just wait for players to show their worth and then buy them.

You _call_ it a salary cap because owners are stupid.

Then you actually implement a salary window, with the floor set to some dynamic value tied to revenue and roughly equivalent to current payroll.

Owners get a salary cap and the current salaries all fit within the window.
The whole point of a salary cap, any salary cap, is to reduce the overall money that owners spend on players. Owners get more, players get less. They wouldn't be doing it if that wasn't the end goal.

Salary caps make owners richer. Period.
Kyle Tucker making $60 million a year while Paul Skenes makes $820k is the problem. That's the bad thing. A salary cap doesn't fix that, but it also doesn't hurt anyone who can be hurt.
