Every time the Trump regime uses the words "funded protesters" and "outside agitators" news outlets need to cut to this photo from last week.

ICE has invaded these communities. Outside agitators don't show up in their fucking bathrobes.

Yup, and you can bet your ass that any potential reform like a salary cap won't actually be targeted at "fair competition" but simply at minimizing ownership costs.

Frankly, fair competition is something most of them are actually actively opposed to.
Like any major professional sport, MLB is structured so that the maximum amount of money can be extracted from fans. Payroll rules have nothing to do with fair competition.

She has real issues with people disclosing the name of a public servant who shot a mother of three in the face because she wouldn't back down from him, but you know she would have zero issues with a harrasment campaign of a teacher who taught something she didn't like.
BRENNAN: Tell me about the officer, Jonathan Ross

KRISTI NOEM: Don't say his name! I mean, for heaven's sake, we shouldn't have people continue to dox law enforcement

BRENNAN: His name is public

NOEM: I know, but that doesn't mean it should continue to be said

There are lots of misconceptions about how baseball finances work, but I’m starting to think the most damaging is the idea that owners spend their own money to win. That’s just not true anywhere, except for Cohen and the Mets. Everyone else is spending some portion of their revenue, not more.

When the #Badgers shoot the ball like this, they’re close to unbeatable. Problem is if they don’t shoot well, they have no ability to grind out wins anymore.

It’s a fun team to watch when it works, but it’s just so hinged on shooting. I have a hard time trusting this team.

The whole point of a salary cap, any salary cap, is to reduce the overall money that owners spend on players. Owners get more, players get less. They wouldn't be doing it if that wasn't the end goal.

Salary caps make owners richer. Period.
Kyle Tucker making $60 million a year while Paul Skenes makes $820k is the problem. That's the bad thing. A salary cap doesn't fix that, but it also doesn't hurt anyone who can be hurt.

Two days ago it was Elissa Slotkin. Last week it was Jerome Powell. Before that, Mark Kelly. Weaponizing the justice system against your opponents is an authoritarian tactic.

The only person not being investigated for the shooting of Renee Good is the federal agent who shot her.
Breaking news: The Justice Department has issued subpoenas for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey as part of an investigation alleging that they are impeding federal law enforcement officers’ abilities to do their jobs in the state.

I am BEGGING people who are fighting against this anti-Dodger, pro salary cap hysteria to please stop saying shit like this.

As well intentioned as it is, it’s not helping, misrepresents the situation and ignores actual valid concerns.

Thanks for listening.

I think Cabrera and his 3 years of control has quite a bit more trade value than Freddy with his one, even at that salary.

I also like Beavers quite a bit more than I like Caissie, but that’s more speculative.
Considering the Cabrera trade, I think starting pitching prices might be this insane.

Yeah, I would be thrilled with just Beavers for Freddy.
that mostly a Beavers thing?

The Cards are picking up like 3/4 of Arenado’s remaining salary and getting back a guy who is maybe a MR if everything breaks right.

They must have wanted him out of the clubhouse like a musty smell.
