Retired from health care, now indulging my creative side (woodworking, guitar, singing/songwriting, artistic painting) with a little golf sprinkled in. Lifelong Michigan resident. Trying to stay sane and have fun!
Yeah, well, it isn’t a crime to be born in Somalia, or Columbia, or Venezuela either.

The word “referenced” begs many questions. Example - Cameron Diaz. Does this mean she’s involved, or might this mean someone said “a new girl has arrived and she’s a Cameron Diaz look-alike.”

Not “right up,” this IS America’s darkest hour. Other crises were the result of external forces. This crisis is home-grown. The frailties of our form of government are being completely exploited and those capable of stopping it are either complicit in the attack or unwilling to act.

With polling numbers so close (how that continues baffles me) the opportunity for mischief abounds. There’s no mechanism for most of the crap Trump pulls, yet he’s able to do so. I’ve no confidence in constitutional safeguards. They’re useless if Congress and the courts refuse to invoke them.

Polling references of a 52-46% difference in favor of Democrats, albeit a Fox News poll, astounds me. Such numbers speak as poorly for the Dems as for the GOP. Around half the country doubts Dems can do any better than the hot mess embodied in Trump and his band of miscreants.

And boy do you deserve it!

That’s just it. When files are released, there’s a media frenzy but nothing substantive happens. Are people, anybody, getting indicted?

Unfortunately it would only be the first person allowed in the room with Miller who would be satisfied…

I’m skeptical of this take, but I’ll tell you this much. If Trump were to launch a nuclear attack on Super Bowl Sunday, the game would go on as scheduled.

The people haven’t let the unscrupulous billionaires in, Congress and our current president has. “The people” are guilty of allowing themselves to be duped by candidates who promise they won’t be a friend to the wealthy then betray that promise once elected.
February 2, 2026 at 1:20 PM
What we think doesn’t matter? I beg to differ. The whole American experiment started in 1776 is built on the idea that a people can govern themselves. When Congress ignores the people’s voice, which is what’s currently happening, they are failing to represent us when that is their fundamental duty.

Perhaps one of the few positives of this mess we’re in is that we white Americans are experiencing a little of the injustice and oppression that has been visited upon our African American brethren all these years. Let’s hope it fuels sweeping, lasting change and movement along the DEI continuum.

If this is true, that person has one hell of a lot more work to do.

Attention all sports fans - the day is coming in which either the NFL will own Draft Kings or vice-versa, Draft Kings will own the NFL, FanDuel will own the NBA, etc. Then what?

Thomas Jefferson held just that - employment by one man over another is slavery in a different form. He believed all men were entitled to free-agency.

In 2016 when this whole shit show started I recall seeing a Facebook video of Miller as a high school student exhorting classmates to trash their cafeteria because ”we have custodians to clean it up.” Even at age 16 this little prick was fomenting social chaos. He’s the personification of hatred.

Michigan’s dominance in the low post, getting them off to a very good start in the first half was impressive. I thought State would eventually make it a game and they did. Two very good teams battling it out!

Whether duped or betrayed, the electorate has a reasonable expectation that a person elected to the US Congress will uphold their oath of office. This isn’t farm subsidies we’re debating here. We got a madman in the White House who is killing his own citizens and threatening world allies.
January 30, 2026 at 9:42 PM
Agreed, voting is important. My point is that Congress continues to let the American people down. We elect people who assure us they’ll act, but they don’t. There are legal channels that can solve this but they won’t use them. The whole lot are failing.
January 30, 2026 at 9:32 PM
So in a system that allows candidates to spend millions of dollars collected from wealthy, secret donors with secret agendas to convince voters they are honest and will fight for the common man only to abandon those promises once elected, us voters are failing? It’s on us? We’re to blame? C’mon.
January 30, 2026 at 3:28 PM
Ok, this is now a revelation? Did ANYBODY not see this coming from the very first day in 2016? And who is the “you” to which Newsom refers? Is that us citizens? This is OUR fault? It’s like the Captain of the Titanic telling passengers “you really should have insisted there be enough lifeboats.”
January 30, 2026 at 3:19 PM
Yep - things were in total chaos, overrun with spectators, artists unable to get to the venue, way, way past the announced starting time, and promoters completely overwhelmed with it all. Ritchie saved the day and turned in a performance for the ages!
January 30, 2026 at 2:45 PM
Ummm, Senator, might I point out that impeachment proceedings must be engaged BY ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES SUCH AS YOURSELF. DO YOU MIND TELLING ME WTF YOU’RE WAITING FOR!
January 30, 2026 at 2:30 PM
So, the democrats are feeling proud that they forced Trump to separately fund his mercenary goon squad assembled to intimidate citizens through excessive force up to and including street executions with impunity. Great work guys - congratulations.
January 30, 2026 at 2:13 PM
The word “investigation” is such a red herring these days. When there is video evidence of a defenseless person being murdered for something that might deserve the equivalent of a traffic ticket, an “investigation” is ludicrous, and Trump’s use of the word is code for intimidation.
