If looking at strata property, ensure the fees can actually upkeep the building & the reserves are robust.

One thing though, Ontario condo owners may be paying in more, but the province is NOT free of under-funded condos.

Strata/Condo properties cost a PREMIUM per sqft to truly upkeep #Strata

#travelcanada Thank you for visiting, but please choose lodging options that don't contribute to the housing crisis we have here for far too many families, and yes this even includes the less expensive provinces and more remote or rural areas.

Just say no to short term rentals. #housingcrisis

Wonderful so many people want to travel in Canada, we welcome you!

PLEASE choose hotels, motels or inns. #housingcrisis is crushing ppl who cannot find homes to rent or buy because they are on AirBNB and VRBO. Locals simply cannot compete with STR income these properties earn!

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages
Business Insider headline reads: UPS is telling customers that their packages coming to the US are marked for destruction.

100% Up in Canada we have politicians on both sides pushing home equity as essential to retirement, yet admitting a lack of affordability is harmful. Conservative leader ran (& lost) saying we have "housing hell", yet couldn't resist claiming home equity is "basis of most retirements" the other day🤦‍♀️

IYKYK- aka both sides of the political spectrum.
Stupid when various liberals have said it, just as stupid when Poilievre says it.

Can't have homes being comfortably affordable AND have home equity being the "basis of most retirements"

PICK ONE. Is housing a game of monopoly? or a place to LIVE?

I did this, took like 30 min.
Points I kept hammering: domestic cloud, regulations around copyright and likeness rights, focusing on machine learning with concrete, real world uses (creating new drugs, etc), the damage done by slop, the need to listen to AI experts who are realists, not boosters.

While being on family tables, holiday gatherings, in celebrations. Many people don't really think of it as a drug that can cause damage

Liked a few posts on here this week that were asking why alcohol labels don't have warnings on them like we see on cigarette packaging.

Great to hear, know people who will omit the older ones entirely and some of those old buildings are solid, and solidly run. Some of the layouts can be much more spacious than some of the newer offerings as well.

"few months into the job, Kingra requested time off, stating he had work to attend to in B.C., according to the former employer"

"Kingra had taken a contract with a more lucrative organization: the Bishnoi gang"

"he felt pressure to support his family in India, and this seemed like easy money."
pastelponylady.bsky.social
Awful. :(
"The gang members carrying out this violence are young, come from India’s Punjab, where unemployment is endemic, and are often in Canada on temporary visas."

"26-year-old Indian citizen, Kingra arrived in Canada almost five years ago but struggled in school and on the job market"
The story of a Bishnoi foot soldier | Globalnews.ca
Abjeet Kingra was part of an Indian gang that has become such a menace that Canada branded it a terrorist organization.

Looking at only newer units or older ones as well? Yeah, there's a lot of badly run & underfunded older stratas, but there's also ones who did do things right and it's nice when you know what kind of complex it is digging through the docs, or seeing the vibe there bc it's already well established ☺️

Ohhhh Ive never seen that building, it's beautiful.

Before we left #Strata Living our water deductible skyrocketed too.

You HAVE to be aware of any changes to the strata master policy so you have the correct coverage.

Now they will have to come up w an additional $75,000 & this isn't even a bad deductible, seen ones over $200K! 😱 #BC #Insurance

Flying to a climate conference is like chain smoking at a lung health conference and leaders should stop doing that

It's 16 ounces.
Tall is 12 ounces. and yeah it is weird, bc you're not saying anything trademarked by another company requesting a 12 ounce coffee/tea/latte.

Not bc they don't understand, Bc they don't care.
Willing to bet a lot of them made the bulk of their net worth BECAUSE decent housing is expensive & scarce. Same folks who want to send any people struggling to a somewhere else, not have housing options for them & others needing lower housing costs

CONGRATS to the Seattle Mariners! ... but Go Jays Go!

Yeahhhhh we didn't step foot in the US during his last term, and we won't this time either. Doesn't matter how much fun we'd be missing out on. :/ Toronto is an amazing city to visit, worth the 5 hour flight ;)

Beautiful. Hope you have a great thanksgiving too.

Fell in love first time I visited the island. Walking along the water never gets old.

OF COURSE it does, we're now years into rents and mortgage payments gobbling up unsustainable amounts of even good household incomes, people are bloody broke.

Going all in on a real estate bubble got us HERE. Yet some politicians STILL pump the Canadian dream as retirement via home equity. IYKYK.
