My parents were Republicans because George H.W Bush signed the Americans with Disabilites Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. A generation of people with disabilities went to college, got jobs and lived independently because of IDEA.

That Oregonian editorial is really well done. I think it’s too kind to Rep Bentz in framing his response, which at least in my reading substantively amounted to ”it’s a shame that we are here but he didn’t have a choice,” but a lot of good facts and really important points.
