Oregon’s Attorney General. Fighting for working families, keeping communities safe, and defending Oregon’s values every day.

It's been a busy nine months since being sworn in as Oregon's 18th Attorney General!

Our team is fighting every day for Oregon priorities: keeping our communities safe, protecting seniors, kids, and working families, and upholding Oregon laws & values.

Here are just a few of our accomplishments: 🧵
Good news! Last night a court ordered the federal government to return the search-and-rescue helicopter to Newport while the lawsuit is underway.

This is a big win for public safety in our coastal communities – and a reminder that the government must follow the law.

We’re grateful to partner with Lincoln County and Newport Fishermen’s Wives in lawsuits to restore Newport's search-and-rescue helicopter.

This helicopter isn’t a luxury—it’s a critical part of how we keep people alive on the Oregon Coast.

Today, we filed a lawsuit to compel the federal government to return Newport’s search-and-rescue helicopter – a critical step for community safety.

This helicopter was recently removed without public notice, community consultation, or risk assessment required by federal law.

We recently launched our Oregon Priorities Tour town halls – and earlier this month, we had over 250 people join us in Corvallis.

When you share your experiences, it helps us craft legal strategies that most effectively serve Oregonians.

Where should we come in 2026?

We will always stand up for due process. That's why we are challenging the Trump administration’s expansion of the “expedited removal” policy, which would allow them to deport people without due process anywhere in the country. This is absolutely unacceptable.

The American people are footing the bill for Trump’s illegal tariffs. Oregon is standing up for working families and small businesses to stop the tariffs in court.

Earlier this week, we presented SPIRE in Salem:

Big thanks to our Economic Justice Section for working tirelessly every day for working families.

The latest win: a $7 million settlement with Greystar, the largest landlord in the U.S., for making working families pay more in rent by price fixing.

Stay tuned for more!

Always great to be back at my alma mater, Willamette Law School!

Thank you to Professor Williams, the staff and faculty, and the students who asked such thoughtful questions about public service & the work of the DOJ.

Maybe I’ll vote for one of you for Attorney General one day!

The folks at the Oregon Department of Justice do this work with a deep sense of patriotism.

I am grateful to work alongside DOJ staff and attorneys every day as we fight for Oregonians, the Constitution, and the rule of law.

We must protect our public lands.

That’s why we took formal action to oppose the U.S. Dept. of the Interior’s proposal to rescind a landmark regulation that allows the Bureau of Land Management to lease land for conservation, restoration, and climate change mitigation purposes.

Today, we announced a settlement releasing hundreds of Oregon homeowners from deceptive 40-year contracts with MV Realty.

This was an outrageous scheme that took advantage of Oregonians who were just trying to get a little financial breathing room.

These dollars go to education programs, public health grants, transportation infrastructure, and more that Oregonians rely on.
