We'd better build more AI data centers, AI will fix this problem for us --

*waits five years*

The oceans have boiled and the drinking water is gone but at least all the intellectual property has been stolen and now I can use AI to create a really accurate representation of Batman fucking Pikachu
Record leap in CO2 fuels fears of accelerating global heating

A nationwide backlash to AI data centers is brewing.

And for good reason: while AI enriches Big Tech CEOs and props up the stock market, data centers are sucking up communities’ water and power.

When the AI bubble bursts, the rest of us will be stuck holding the bag. Be warned.

Bessent’s friends have huge investments in Argentina.

Elon Musk does too.

Bessent is sending $40 billion of our money to Argentina with more to come.

There is zero oversight. Congress not involved.

One unelected man is sending a fortune to Argentina and nobody will stop him,
I think the plan is to kill most of them, as much as they can, through starvation, bombing. Some will be displaced, and there is a real risk that survivors will be shoved into permanent camps and used as cheap labor like slaves, to serve the billionaire’s projects.
I think Transhumanism remains a metaphor — and a dangerous one — mobilized to capture policy and to naturalize technical and economic agendas under the guise of human advancement.
Though the Berggruen Institute claims to host “debates,”its magazine Noema consistently promotes frameworks like computational functionalism, where life, mind, and intelligence are reduced to information processing.Dissenting views exist, but they’re sidelined, never centered.

1/10 There are very abstract concepts that must be taken as truth in order to subjugate humans to technology and its owners. One of the most powerful is the idea that computation is consciousness and life is information, the core belief behind what philosophers call computational functionalism.

Transhumanists admit they lack an ethical and philosophical framework. The “philanthropic” Berggruen Institute — whose publication is @noemamag.com — is building it, using “ethics” to legitimize a post-human ideology where life is information and AI is evolution, turning control into policy.
Schneider’s concern was not only metaphysical but political. “Big tech has taken these philosophical ideas,” she warned, “and used them for propaganda purposes, for regulatory capture. They distract us from digital privacy, mental health, and human flourishing.”

This is so wrong.
During the pandemic, Germany gave billions in bailouts to big corporations — not repaid.
Politicians involved in mask fraud were convicted or cleared by loopholes, but kept the money.
Now small businesses and freelancers are being forced to return their tiny aid.
Outrageous.
AI is simpler than a Mycoplasma—the tiniest living thing. When something that simple can take your job, the problem isn’t intelligence, but the economy’s contempt for life.

AI-driven job displacement a growing concern
U.S. unemployment rises to 4.3% in August; AI adoption sparks worker anxiety over job security and displacement.

6/6 So no — AI cannot rescue democracy. It’s being used to secure the order that democracy once threatened. And until that order itself is confronted, all talk of “AI for democracy” is just interface management — the narcotic of participation masking the reality of control.
5/6 AI is here not to fix inequality, but to amplify it — to automate extraction, surveillance, and social control. Even a “participatory” AI would only stage the illusion of agency inside a system built on exploitation. You can’t code your way out of inequality; you can only redistribute power.
4/6 olitikverdrossenheit is real because people have already understood: it doesn’t matter who they vote for. The same alliances between money, data, and government remain. Voting has become an elite ritual for cultural signaling while material power flows upward.
3/6 The same corporations now preaching about “democratic AI” are the ones hollowing out democracy itself — lobbying governments, extracting subsidies, dodging taxes, writing regulation in their favor. They’re not partners in democracy; they’re its creditors.
2/6 People aren’t choosing comfort; they’re being coerced. AI functions like a drug deliberately engineered to addict. Addictive interfaces, algorithmic engagement, and convenience as compulsion.its a strategy. And it targets children too, invading schools, shaping attention from the earliest years.
