If you like my work, take a look at my main photography prints page: my very best work from over the years, with a formal poster presentation. Lightning, mountains, national parks, supercell storms, and more. Check out my Darkroom store page here connorsipephoto.darkroom.com

I'd love to put out some video projects related to my book, Tornado Country. I'm just not really sure how - I think the best option would be short readings from throughout with some music and sound, but I don't know how much viewership that would attract for the effort it would take.

October 10 last year from Lake Erie, Pennsylvania - the G4 aurora, one of the most amazing things I've ever seen to top off a year of some of the most amazing things I've ever seen

Brand new on my Darkroom prints page: a spectacularly moody sunrise beneath a blanket of fog in western Pennsylvania a couple weeks ago, in white-bordered poster format. Available with the rest of my best work here: connorsipephoto.darkroom.com

One year ago tonight was the strawberry aurora, seen here from western PA with two meteors. 2024 was wild

A year ago today I watched the sun rise from Bear Rocks, West Virginia and it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. It took me back to being a kid flipping through books about weather and Earth and looking at the pictures wondering if I could ever see things like that.

A year ago tonight I was camping in the car at Bear Rocks after having an amazing day running around Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley, and Seneca Rocks in WV, unable to check radar but seeing central Appalachia lit up with flood warnings as the wind and mist whipped around outside

Guitar is probably the hardest virtual instrument for me to work with because I didn't learn how to play or read music traditionally, the human touch greatly expands the possibilities, and I have a harder time coming up with melodies I think don't sound strange. I'm liking this project score though

This comes to me a few minutes after I saw a video of an Oklahoma teacher showing the bible he received for his classroom which contained the pledge of allegiance, a letter from Lee Greenwood, and a version of the constitution missing half of its amendments

It looks like my next video project will be FALL IN PENNSYLVANIA, a cinematic scenery film I've had sitting incomplete since I shot these scenes two years ago. I'm figuring out the chill, ambient sound I want for the music so we'll see how it goes

I visited the Dolly Sods and Blackwater area of West Virginia a full year ago and I haven't made a video about it yet. I plan to get a series going of informational videos using photography and more of my music exploring some of the places I've been and I might start with this

Indeed. Earlier this summer, the White House did this to me, as a scientific expert source in media, and issued a formal statement regarding my personal campaign contribution history in an attempt to discredit my commentary on wildfire, climate, and federal policy. Yet more alarm bells ringing...

I had this exact same experience this morning. Same reporter as Heidi.

This is *not* normal.

I have spoken to the press on these issues for two decades. No government official has ever demanded to know my identity in order to give a comment on a story.

I find this extremely chilling:
I spoke w a reporter this morning about Kimmel. (Reporter was / is great) They got back to me a short while ago to say they sought White House comment & WH demands to know first which experts they spoke with. I told reporter I'm happy to be quoted IN THE STORY but 1/x

Something that concerns me is that I, somebody who is trying to closely follow along with the insane political interference going on in public safety and science, didn't even know about this hearing. And if I didn't know, then how many other people don't know how crazy this all is?

Sunday night's aurora from western Pennsylvania, featuring a proton influence that resulted in a strange display of strobing/flickering fuzzy green arcs ahead of the main arc. I can have a time lapse video done shortly

This site is miserable for me to use. Partly because it's my bad news feed for the dismantling of science and national systems, and partly because some of the speech I see from the less informed, more vitriolic crowd here reads almost exactly like the worst of their counterparts over on X

It sucks that if you diverge even slightly from the most popular opinion on here, people will just start blocking and berating you. We need to be doing better.

And it seems like there have been cheap framing attempts lately - the kid who shot at Trump donated to right-wing causes right before, the Michigan democrat shooter picked up a bunch of No Kings flyers, the church shooter wrote a bunch of conflicting edgelord bs, and so on
