SCOOP: FEMA is now requiring disaster survivors to sign up to receive aid using an email address - a move that is already putting some of the country’s most vulnerable people at risk of missing out on federal help, employees told me:
FEMA Now Requires Disaster Victims to Have an Email Address
Workers at FEMA worry that demanding disaster survivors access services using email could shut out people without internet connectivity from receiving government aid.

a study spanning multiple continents involving 50+ co-authors has found that the oceans added a record amount of heat in 2025—the energy equivalent of 12 atomic bombs going off in the ocean, one of the authors told me

it's the eighth year in a row that the oceans have broken heat records like this
The Oceans Just Keep Getting Hotter
For the eighth year in a row, the world’s oceans absorbed a record-breaking amount of heat in 2025. It was equivalent to the energy it would take to boil 2 billion Olympic swimming pools.

I reached out to the sponsors of the Take It Down Act and the Kids Online Safety Act, all of whom maintain a daily active presence on X. I noticed that most of them continue to post on X officially despite getting little to no engagement on their posts.

I can't stop thinking about how any group of racist, power-hungry men can just put on vests they bought online and wander around, taking people off of the streets into unmarked SUVs to who knows where. Masks, no warrants, no IDs/badges, unmarked vehicles, etc. No accountability.
I just watched two women get kidnapped right in front of me in Northeast Minneapolis.

ICE is still terrorizing our city.

NEW: People are using AI to falsely identify the federal agent who shot and killed Renee Good in Minnesota.

Online "sleuths" have already named people involved, who do not appear to be affiliated with ICE, and linked to their social media accounts.

People Are Using AI to Falsely Identify the Federal Agent Who Shot Renee Good
Online detectives are inaccurately claiming to have identified the federal agent who shot and killed a 37-year-old woman in Minnesota based on AI-manipulated images.

According to my sources, the FBI was initially open to a concurrent investigation with the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (the state agency that would do this investigation).

Trumpy U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen heard about this and intervened, barring the FBI from cooperating with local police.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota investigators say they can't access evidence after fatal ICE shooting and FBI won't work jointly on probe.

Just an incredible exchange with the President of the United States as he was asked about the shooting of a U.S. citizen.

Videos people created with Grok are more extreme than images on X:

- A review of around 800 Grok videos found around 10% appeared to involve sexual content and minors
- Some videos involved violent sexual scenes
- Celebrities and real people were put into explicit videos, including Princess Diana
Grok Is Generating Sexual Content Far More Graphic Than What's on X
A WIRED review of outputs hosted on Grok’s official website shows it’s being used to create violent sexual images and videos, as well as content that includes apparent minors.

A Black man named Keith Porter was shot and killed by an ICE officer on New Year’s Eve.

Marimar Martinez was shot five times by an ICE officer in Chicago who went on to brag about leaving seven holes in her body.

This is not new but it is expanding.
Your reminder that what happened to Renee Nicole Good is something that happens regularly in America. This is not new, but it is an expanded version of militarized people targeting Black people in particular.

From ICE detention to murder with impunity, we've been doing it. Now it's broadened.
