New piece.

The data presented by @thejcpa.bsky.social and @counterhate.com about antisemitism on X is stark: it is being spread to hundreds of millions of people.

Not just antisemitism, but OVERT antisemitism. And that shift means far more than people realize. It won't be long before it leaves X.
Overt Anti-Jewish Hate is On the Verge of Going Mainstream
The combination of mainstreamed conspiracy theories and overt hate on X is close to transforming America's relationship with Jews.

My friend just returned after running for his life from Gaza City. His home, which he worked for months to rebuild, is rubble.

Please help him build a new life.

Fair! Implication of the third one is that action is needed, but fair enough!

Either way, we're always in this balancing act, which can definitely lean us one way or the other.

Some folks can't see the fascism, and so they have false optimism that causes them not to act against it.

Other folks see the fascism, and they feel so hopeless that they don't act against it.

What we need is a combination of the ability to see things honestly as well as to be empowered.

"The administration is doing dumb things, this proves they will fail."

1. They are not as dumb as you think in the areas that matter to them: grabbing power.

2. Being dumb is a feature, not a bug, of authoritarianism. Hiring based on loyalty does that.

3. This thinking is what leads to inaction.

The step from “AIPAC is influencing politicians” to “operating our government on the behalf of someone else,” in the context of Carroll, is a trope about Jews controlling the government.

Woah! Just looked into this. He wasn’t interviewed by Carroll, but he decided to be a dummy and share it. Wild stuff!

I really cannot help but marvel at how, for a certain class, all behavior by a politician must be framed as a horse race, as opposed to genuine opposition.
At a time when Democrats are searching for leadership, Mr. Pritzker is trying to seize the moment to demonstrate it — to fuel opposition to Mr. Trump across the nation, and, perhaps, his future presidential ambitions.

No mainstream leaders, pundits, media, will treat her life as important as Kirk's.

None will see this shooting as dangerous as Kirk's.

None will value a brown woman as much as that white man.

This isn't just about Republicans. It's the values at the heart of leadership & institutions in America.

This is literally what Weiss and others in her universe see as intellectual diversity.

I kind of can’t believe this Bari Weiss quote is even real, and yet www.nytimes.com/2025/10/06/b...
“I know that there are some people in this room who don’t believe that my marriage should have been legal … and that’s ok. Because we’re all Americans who want lower taxes.”

Pritzker is also furious: “Should National Governors Association leadership choose to remain silent, Illinois will have no choice but to withdraw from the organization.”

We don't talk enough about anti-brown racism.

It is still framed as "immigration," "activists," "crime" etc, which further entrench the racist framing.

And now we are seeing how that plays out, with pundits crying over a white racist while hardly feeling the brown lives being destroyed every day.

Well, luckily Bluesky's reputation is intact
eladn.bsky.social
Wait were you gone?! What am I missing? I don't look at Bluesky as carefully for a few days and apparently I missed a lot! Glad that you're back regardless :)

We'll see what they say once one of them is threatened by the administration. They go with the wind (money, clicks, popularity), not with values.

But there are many who actually stick to their values, and it's worth investing in them than debating the men who go where the money takes them.

“I voted for none of this."

Prominent influencers, including Theo Von, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Schulz, are starting to distance themselves from the president they helped propel to the White House.

so much of the conversation (and let's be honest all conversations about politics) danced around - was even explicitly stated at points - the word / concept "we"
