This goes very deep. As I wrote in a recent piece, the right won't target all Jews right away. They will (and already are) start by targeting progressive Jews, especially anti-Zionist Jews.
Since they are not even considered Jews by orgs & leaders, they won't be (and aren't) defended against this antisemitism. And it will get much worse.
But such hate never stays localized, as we are seeing with the targeting of the ADL by the FBI. We are all in this together. We need to fight for each other.

Why aren't the establishment Jewish groups who talk constantly about Jewish safety demanding that @davidrkadler go free? Because when Jews defy Israel, their safety no longer matters. They cease being Jews at all because for the American Jewish establishment, "Jew" means "pro-Israel." This is what happens when you make a state your god.

One of the most important things to remember about fascism is it goes in stages. It starts with one of us, then as we accept it, it spreads to others. There is a reason one of the most famous poems from the Nazi era specifically mentions this.

They are coming for all of us. In different ways and at different times. But if you are not a rich, white Christian cis heterosexual man, you are on the list. And so we all need to come together. We cannot let the leaders who have transacted our lives to take us all down in the abyss.

True solidarity. True collaboration. True trust in the other.

It's not just an ideal. It is the only practical way to face fascism. And those who have abandoned solidarity don't realize that they've already endangered themselves.

We don't talk enough about anti-brown racism.

It is still framed as "immigration," "activists," "crime" etc, which further entrench the racist framing.

And now we are seeing how that plays out, with pundits crying over a white racist while hardly feeling the brown lives being destroyed every day.

We'll see what they say once one of them is threatened by the administration. They go with the wind (money, clicks, popularity), not with values.

But there are many who actually stick to their values, and it's worth investing in them than debating the men who go where the money takes them.

This also helps explain why in Israel the pro-hostage movement is largely anti-Netanyahu while in America it is pro-Netanyahu (or at least, all of his policies re Gaza).

There is a disinformation campaign targeting Jews & all Americans to convince us supporting hostages means supporting genocide.

The ADL thought it could fall in line with Musk and it would stop his attacks on them. Instead, it just made them complicit, legitimized Musk, and ultimately didn’t actually change him at all.

This is how fascists work. Greenblatt tried being transactional: for fascists, it only goes one way.
