If Canadians have been complicit in or perpetrated war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza on behalf of the IDF, then they should be very afraid.

Actions have consequences. Every last one of them needs to be prosecuted for their role in Israel's barbarism and genocidal cruelty. No exceptions. #FAFO

Didn't anyone tell the soldiers in the IDF that if they are complicit in war crimes they can be charged?
There is a lot of video evidence out there.
All those selfies are going to come back to bite.
Canadians who are complicit must be held accountable.

‘I’m afraid to go home’: Canadian IDF soldiers fear fallout from war crimes probe
Canada’s probe into the Israel-Hamas conflict doesn’t explicitly target Israelis, but its unclear scope has alarmed Jews amid rising international lawfare against soldiers

I'm definitely intrigued by this hire. Hopefully Jack Wilshire does well at Luton. He's definitely kept his head down and honed his craft without much fanfare.

If the regime can't find enough violent criminals, they will shift the definition of what constitutes a "violent criminal" to suit their goals.

They're laying the groundwork to deem any protestor, activist, or opposition politician a criminal. Even journalists that criticize them aren't safe.

I laid out the details of the extraordinary corruption case against Benjamin Netanyahu a few months ago in @thenewworldmag.bsky.social. It seems like it’s helped him bond with Trump.

Trump has always viewed corruption as the "cost of doing business", but publicly advocating for Netanyahu to get a pardon is beyond sickening.

And of course, the partisans in Knesset loudly cheered.
anthonymkreis.bsky.social
Trump’s pro-corruption speech in Israel is absolutely disgraceful.
pdawkins.bsky.social
It's difficult to put into words how utterly revolting this speech is. The laughter in the Knesset when Trump makes asides like this is disgusting.

He's an amoral, cognitively declining megalomaniac and nobody should ever sugarcoat it.

Trump, speaking in the Israeli parliament, boasts about the weapons the U.S. has provided and says "you obviously used them very well."

The reason you cut arms funding is so that you aren’t enabling Bibi to drag out a war throughout the election. I don’t think anyone doubts Biden had a similar deal on the table it’s just that his “bear hug” strategy meant he refused to exert the necessary pressure to get the deal done.

Whatever those protesters were shouting, security inside Knesset descended on them within seconds. It looked like one of them was holding up a sign.

Hopefully we get a translation of what they were shouting. #LBC

Watching the Bibi & Don Show treat this like some grand victory, while people returning to northern Gaza dig the rubble for loved ones' remains, is pretty revolting.

Experts on geopolitical happenings in Africa, Asia, and South America are either throttled by Twitter's algorithm or drowned out by Musk's virtual brownshirts— and it's absolutely deliberate.

What the Twitter takeover did so effectively was fracture the way we get our news. If, for example, I want to get in-depth updates on Sudan I still check in with Twitter as that's where a lot of the biggest accounts are. There's no one-stop shop anymore.

Netanyahu: "Israel did what it had to do."

This may have went unchallenged years ago, but nobody with a shred of human decency can hear this and not feel apt to vomit. This is a victory lap after launching a genocide.

His ICC arrest warrant can't be carried out fast enough. @mrjamesob.bsky.social

What a load of sickening revisionist drivel coming out of Knesset. Netanyahu filled the chamber with hardline supporters, and they're taking it in turn to shower Trump with praise.

They're pretending that the IDF didn't just gleefully raze Gaza to the ground and slaughter Palestinians for sport.

If you've never been to Gaza, you won't appreciate what the yellow line means. Basically Israel now holds most of Gaza's small but important agricultural land. Continued Israeli occupation, which I judge the likely outcome, makes Gaza even more unliveable and more dependent on outside goods.

Bari Weiss carried dirty water for racists, billionaires, far-right provocateurs, and now fascists. Her failing upwards throughout her career is not accidental. Quite the opposite.

Whenever someone refers to representation as "the great equalizer", direct them to Weiss and operatives of her ilk.

This shit about “Bari Weiss is a feminist girlboss” is actually the logical conclusion of allowing DEI to be a substitute for actual structural change to end white supremacy and patriarchy

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by ICE in Everett and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia.
A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.
