I'd happily play a game with a sexualised character like on the left (although with a much better sense of design) but Ghost of Yotei is not that game! They clearly have no concept of samurai movies and the look the game is going for and fundamentally misunderstand aesthetics and character design.

I get why King was upset because to him, it's a story about being an alcoholic with a redemption arc, but to me, someone who grew up with an alcoholic and abusive parent, the film is brutally accurate in capturing the constant fear, especially when the alcoholic is acting "fine."

Wendy is my go to when people ask best final girl, and I wonder if the skewed view of her is because the UK version cuts a lot of the things out like her doing Jack's caretaking job. And then when he snaps, she keeps Danny and herself alive and makes smart decisions, despite her terror.
