Please be aware, protect yourself and ask your peers if you’re not sure if something is legitimate! I’ve also written an article here about how to spot some red flags:

Hey y’all, I’ve been seeing reports of tons and tons of email scams going around lately regarding audiobook VO. These emails will often come from a random Gmail address, use generic wording (ex: “we were impressed by your website”), and provide little to no information about the supposed job.

I NEED more creators, ie on youtube or otherwise, to be explicitly direct about not using AI.

There's a few channels on youtube I watch where they say in the description or even on-screen that they do not use AI, and right now, unless I see that, I can't be sure

I think this is the last drawing in a long list that I haven't posted here.

They are also intentionally conflating machine-learning and generative AI slop to confuse and try to make GenAI seem necessary. Google Maps traffic stuff is machine learning, not GenAI, for example. Auto-correct is too. Don't let them make you lose the thread. GenAI slop is slop.
the nyt posts this stuff like avoiding AI for 48 hours is hard and meanwhile i have literally never once intentionally used an AI program for anything ever
what's this mean, i'm an old man

The thing about these sorts of replies is that they’re deliberately creating a no-win scenario for everyone! Whenever I’m feeling down about myself or life, being happy for someone else’s good news is a pretty great tonic and I truly think some people need to try it
“wow you guys look i achieved XYZ i’m so excited!”
“i’ve trying to do XYZ for 10 years. congrats tho”

“i drew a picture!”
“wow, my art sucks compared to yours”

“(funny story about a friend)”
“i used to have a friend who did that. i miss having friends :/“

I think any story about Trump's autocracy should be mostly about the people and institutions who failed to stop it. This guy isn't a political genius, everything else just happens to be rotten. 'Toddler Consolidates Power In Household' is a story about incompetent parents, not shrewd maneuvering

What percentage of politicians in your country are still relying on this site as a primary means of public communication?

It feels slightly maddening that this isn't being treated as an extremely urgent problem.
This is a "recommended" tweet pushed to a (very much not-Nazi) contact's iPhone lockscreen last week.

Who knows how many millions it was pushed to by Musk's platform, including in this case, in the UK?

It's now been deleted, but only after getting thousands of RTs.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.
