I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

So I needed a new pro controller for my Switch but didn’t want to pay for a real one. Found a compatible one but it looked like it had silly lightning stickers on it. That’s ok. Get the controller and it looks black, great. Then I notice the pathways for…oh that wasn’t a sticker it lights up…

Replaced my 12yr+ old coffee maker - it was just time. And, because it was cheap, I got just the upgraded new model of the same Black & Decker machine. It makes coffee. Nothing fancy. Don't want fancy. And it's fine. BUT THEY REMOVED THE BEEP. I need a beep when it's done. I forget otherwise. *SIGH*
