This dog don't hunt.

Troops absolutely can (in fact are duty bound to) refuse unlwawful orders.

The problem is knowing which one's are such. Kelly didn't do anything to confuse that, and no Court Martial is going to find him guilty of sedition for stating facts.

Pentagon threatens to court-martial senator who told troops they can refuse ‘illegal orders’
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has said Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) is still subject to military law, “and he knows that.”

I wrote about the fake account blowup on X this weekend. A genuine post-truth nightmare and proof that these companies have polluted their platforms so thoroughly and traded reality for profit that they've undermined the very idea of what the internet is supposed to be.

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.
Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me
In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Why? The country applies the "Housing First" concept agains homelessness.

This is what medical racism looks like.
Because a poorly designed device that is well documented to fail on darker skin is believed over the lived experience of the patient, who is asking for OXYGEN. Not drugs, just more air.

Best wishes, Bibi, this is ridiculous and I’m so, so sorry.
I have been suffering a lot because it's been getting harder and harder to breathe. And get enough oxygen. It feels like I'm suffocating at times. I know that my surgery to fix my breathing issues is in 2 months. But it doesn't make it any less painful, exhausting & frustrating.

Our motherfucking media is useless. How do you NOT mention this when he's arguing against trans health care?

And how do you print this fact here without immediately calling attention to his opposition to hormones for trans ppl?

The track record has been:
1. Abolish something
2. Replace it with something meant to do the same thing but less effectively & more corruptly which
3. Actually takes forever to set up & therefore nothing is getting done before the next election & everything is disintegrating
4. ????
5. PROFIT
Going out on a limb here to suggest that the PM doesn’t understand what it is that regional councils do

When I say that locking mothers in the suburbs with small children breaks them? This is what I mean.

It’s why we need universal daycare, paid parental leave for a full year, with gradual return to work schedules.

Babies do best in groups of peers (siblings are not peers). And adults NEED peers!
I'm literally just living a normal life while also experiencing a theophany via communication with the satellite called VALIS.

Just mindboggling the shit that billionaires are doing that is causing harm to the world when they could be doing so much good. Wouldn't that feel better? Helping people? Spreading some joy? Or just hole up and buy all the cool shit and enjoy it and leave everyone else alone.

It's much easier to get help or support as a Black woman once you're dead. But when it comes to getting support to stay alive. It's incredibly hard. And people tend to minimize your struggles and assume you'll be okay. And that you're exaggerating. When you're pleading for help.

Sure! Mastercard, Visa, Stripe + Paypal are further restricting what kinds of perfectly legal adult content you can buy through their processor (they cracked down on itchio and steam over the summer, not to mention Patreon a few years ago). We're tired of them acting like dictators instead of tools.
I don’t happen to have a Mastercard, but can you remind me why I’d be upset with them if I did?

Targeting Kelly is one of those “this is why we’ll win” moments, bc it shows how politically impetuous this admin is.

There’s clearly no adult in the room to say “wait, maybe don’t go after the charismatic war hero turned literal astronaut who ran after his wife was a victim of political violence.”
Mark Kelly: "My wife, Gabby Giffords, meeting with her constituents, shot in the head. Six people killed around her, a horrific thing. She spent six months in the hospital. We know what political violence is and we know what causes it too, The statements that Donald Trump made incites others."

Today’s best accomplishment: Changed my screen protectors (the paper-like one was worn, the glass one had a crack) with my long-haired cat sitting beside me and shedding like it’s her job, and still managed to get zero dust particles or hair trapped under either protector.

This is Olympic level.

The people who want to make other people do labor for them for free and demand all power over their output are the ones accusing other people of slavery.

Okay.

I’m just saying. We have a name for people who feel entitled to other people’s labor without pay and on demand.

This is an irresponsibly favorable profile of RFK Jr, painting him as a vaccine skeptic rather than what he is: fervently anti-vaccine. Whether the reporter caved to pressure from RFK Jr or is so ignorant of science he doesn’t understand how many will come to harm bc of him, this is shameful. +
