I didn't really like that movie but his character was great.
Benicio del Toro’s performance makes me happy. Hope he wins.

Whatever is in the Epstein Files is so explosive that the leaders of the Department of Justice are openly breaking the law every day to keep us from seeing it. (Just a reminder amongst all the other stuff flying around.)

In the 1870 census, Boise, Idaho was almost 50% Chinese. Just...think about that. Think about Boise, Idaho today and what you think about it racially.

What happened after that was, to put it bluntly, repeated violence against the Chinese population in the West.

Barron Trump was apparently on Facetime with a woman he met via "social media" as she was being beaten by a Russian MMA fighter who was jealous of her relationship with the president's son.

There was a time when I would have angrily argued with people who were hating on the Yankees in my mentions.

I don't even care any more. We deserve what we get. Hal has taken all my joy for the game.

Man. On top of everything else the Yankees are actively depressing.
January 22, 2026 at 3:43 AM
This was like the one last clear move the Yankees could have made to avoid this offseason being a total embarrassment.

This boy was sent to detention in Texas. School officials say they are working to locate two other children who were detained by ICE.

There is a small part of me that's paranoid the Raiders are going to try and do something cute rather than making the very obvious Mendoza pick. That would be insane but also very, very Raiders.

What's wild is - based on his own remarks - Trump saw the numbers, blamed his people for not selling his performance, and decided he could turn it all around by making his own pitch filled with industrial grade anti-Somali hate
Trump approval, per The Economist —

Georgia: -18.6%
Maine: -18.4%
Texas: -17.2%
Michigan: -15.8%
North Carolina: -13.6%
Ohio: -9.2%
Iowa: -8.7%
Florida: -7.5%
South Carolina: -7.3%
Mississippi: -6.9%
Alaska: -6.6%
Louisiana: -5.1%
Nebraska: -1.8%

These states all have Senate elections this year

If you want to know what I mean when I describe being annoyed with "urbanist" posters check this stuff out.
This is a really cool straw man you've set up here. Totally indicative of good faith, smart engagement.

It's not like I was explicitly talking about double parked cars and poorly run construction sites, which, yes, are things that cause accidents and may have in this case.

Enjoy the mute!

I continue to be, let's say 'annoyed,' at nat'l coverage that posits "Americans" are reacting w/ passivity. Most leaders may be, but I spend every day talking to ordinary people taking extraordinary steps to protect their families, communities and countries. National media just missing the story.
Here @ashleyrparker.bsky.social tries to explain the peculiar passivity with which America has greeted naked authoritarianism.

I see an "urbanist" account I already blocked noticed the cleaned aftermath of the accident I saw and is declaring my thoughts on it a "take" for which I should "log off." Personally, I wouldn't be commenting on things I wasn't present for, but I guess that is fitting with the logic of that crowd.
