it's moments like these when I rebel against my predisposition for doomerism and refuse to believe we're going to be brought down by some of the dumbest people to ever live.
Is there some sort of award for perfectly missing the point?

This is torture. The US is torturing children. Children whose words and whose art contain infinitely more humanity than the people keeping them detained.

Neither the President nor Vice President of the United States can make a public appearance in front of a non-partisan crowd either in America or abroad without being booed.
NEW: Huge cheers earlier for the Ukrainian athletes at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

Then huge BOOS as JD Vance comes on the big screen in the stadium.

Even the commentators can’t hide it…

There were 89,000 polling places in 2022.

8 states have all-mail elections.

At least 5,000,000 Americans marched in the October No Kings demonstrations.

They have 15,000 guys. They couldn't "surround the polls" if they wanted to.

Also: We have a 'submit resume for future openings' now, and are going to be posting more jobs later this year.

We're funded by our 50K+ members paying $120/year, plus some YouTube ads, not a billionaire's whims. Legit, openly left-leaning, independent news outlet full of veteran journalists.
I wish independent media outlets had the capacity to absorb all the talent being laid off today at the WaPo (and recently elsewhere, like CBS).
We don’t.
But: @democracydocket.com is hiring a part time weekend journalist position right now.

Headed for some real Al Pacino And Justice For All energy here. But in all seriousness, Trump and Bondi have done a pretty good job of ransacking the Justice Department. It will take enormous work to build a new DOJ that reflects our best traditions once we drive this regime out at the polls.
This is unreal. An AUSA talking like that in open court is about as close as you can come to a total breakdown. Never heard of anything like it.
