This week I listened to The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails for the first time In 30 years and it's very ahead of its time. By which I mean a lot of it sounds like the music in The Traitors. I also feel like if I spend long enough looking, there's probably a NIN song about traitors and faithfuls.

The parallels between DSMD and the new JW album are salient. You know it doesn't stand a chance but if you can at least say in future years that you didn't let it pass you by and you tried to make *some* noise about it, well that's worth something.

I get that there has to be a shared discourse around popular stuff but if I were JW, finally sharing the fruits of a decade's work with the world – and on the very same day, a surprise new T****r S***t album belly flops into the water, obliterating everything else, I'd probs be a bit down about that
