fifth in my gundam zeta redesign project: the galbaldy β
put this one on hiatus for a bit, but i wanted to do a nice redesign of the gelgoog beam rifle to go with this. i think the whole thing turned out alright

yeah, they're soft tipped and the paint is acrylic, which means some colors need a couple passes to look their best, but it doesn't harm bare plastic, it's easier to clean up, and in my experience they apply very smoothly

you're welcome! i do massively recommend DSPIAE for touch up, they're super easy to control and they're soft tipped and don't let out too much paint. only thing is you might have to consider using white or pink as a base for certain colors, the red i had from them is a little pale without pink under

i only used the gundam paint markers a couple times and never liked them, DSPIAE's markers somehow always turn out nice as long as you don't paint over a huge open area (could result in visible brush strokes). they're easy to clean up overpaint too, i just scrape a little off with a toothpick

it also works well if you wanted do minor touches of paint while working through it (i use DSPIAE markers a lot for details) that way you give it some time to dry. just make sure you can tell parts apart by their shape without numbers, or use a system to organize them by where they go on the kit

i dont usually do it, but when im working on a project that calls for it i tend to cut all the outer armor pieces off the runner and then do the whole panel line and cleanup before building. earlier this year i did it with the MG barbatos and vidar as well as the MG geara doga

yeah i've always hated people making a generalized statement about sequels, since it's too easy to think of counterexamples. the other day i saw someone say "the third in a series is always bad because they try too hard to mix things up" and it's really easy to think of examples to disprove that

the fact that so many people frame autism as “a problem that needs to be solved” is a constant reminder that being “not normal” isn’t acceptable to a large amount of the world. it’s the same reason there’s a trans panic right now too. they think people are defective

okay people still do that, where they act like a story is bad if something comes across as a big deal but isnt treated as a twist. one that comes to mind is people complaining it's too obvious that V is vergil in dmc5. sometimes a reveal can be for the sake of the characters and not the audience

i've used both, but battery more recently. my old corded one did the job fine, but i borrowed a battery one that's basically brand new this past month and it could barely get through. the gas one i've been using for years is more reliable and doesnt struggle with anything

whenever someone says "i can't draw!" my first thought is "can you pick up a pencil? can you put it to paper? can you move it across the paper? you ARE drawing!" which may be pedantic, but good lord that is THE first step every single artist on the planet has to make! innate talent is a myth!

One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone goes “I CANNOT make art. I’ll never make art. I can’t even do stick figures.” This learned helplessness is pathetic and insulting, and ignores the work all artists must do. And now there is even more incentive for these people to just settle into it.
