“So far on our travels, traversing through the environment has been relatively easy… I wish I could say the same for the swamp, because between the tangled roots, the fact that this place is flooded most of the time, and my size, exploring can be a bit tricky. Regardless, we carry on, especially when there’s more fauna to study; Fish that are still alive in modern era, like sturgeons, paddlefish, gars, and more, dwell below the surface, while on the rotten logs, various turtles bask in the humid morning sun, along with crocodyliformes patrolling the various waterways in search of their next meal, early birds chirping and singing out to each other in the canopy, freshwater bivalves and snails living on the bottom, and much more. And the crystals keep adding up, some of them literally covering the roots of some of the various cypress trees sticking out of the water. And while there’s less land when compared to the Channels, it’s just enough to let in small-to-medium-sized dinosaurs. While we currently set up camp on one of the many small beaches that dot the swamp, I’m still thinking about that ghost grumpus that we saw back on the beach, along with what to call the form that I suddenly took on. As per the voice’s suggestion, maybe Tater-Tot and I could find a suitable species, along with the remains of said species covered in those strange crystals, have Tater mimic their calls, and see what happens. It’s worth a shot.”
