I've recently decided to get off my butt and finally write a book!

Albeit, uh, it's just scifi that happens to be written by a trans author. But. x3

still amazing to me the number of movies, games, etc. which have Venus Flytrap-based creatures in some form compared to the actual native range of Venus Flytrap, which is like, the great untamed jungles of a few wet pine savannas in North Carolina
map illustrating the native range of Venus Flytrap plants, just a little half circle around coastal North and South Carolina in USA

I LOVED being the offtank. Hell, the new tank they had released (Junker Queen?) would have been an ideal offtank
and they released her
with
the no more offtank patch.

5v5 genuinely killed the game for me

NaNoWriMo is dead (deservedly) but I think I am gonna try and set aside November to do a bunch of writing anywho

Anyways, I did try and actually staff there for a day, but, uh... Nobody on a DarkRP server wants a HL2RP admin x3 I stopped logging in after a day because everyone was annoyed at me. XP

I log in and see I don't have staff perms. What gives, right? I ask about it and discover my folly - I was given admin perms for the *DARKRP* server. I hated DarkRP, btw.

Anyways, I played on this server almost every day, right? This was around when my yearning to give back to places started, so naturally I applied to moderate. I filled out the whole app, talked with some other mods, and got accepted. Awesome!

Random funny thought, but yearssss ago I used to play a lot of HL2RP on this server called Tim's Land. It was probably a lot more mid than I remember it being, but at the time it was the best server I'd played on for RP quality + freedom to *do things*.

Extreme agree. I sometimes feel like I'm going insane trying to find out what someone is actually advertising their system to do

It's why I always open with explaining my game to my friends as a classless d6 dice pool space horror game, their expectations are set well enough to communicate x3

someone on the Motorola forums was having the same problem with the camera I've been having, but I just have to share the image they posted to demonstrate the issue.
it's the funniest shit I've ever seen in my life dude

The photo is of an elderly woman in gray clothes that has been so bizarrely processed that it looks both totally over and desaturated

All of this started around when I started talking to some friends who live in the area about thinking of moving there. It's kinda only made the city seem more appealing to me, I have GOT to visit

My coworker got it shortly after I started my job last year. Instead of me having a year for he and I to be friends and talk about tabletop and his cat every day, he'd just be dead. Medicine rules

I haven't tested this system at all yet - I'm hoping to start some playtesting next month, fate willing, but x3 We'll see

Combat rounds are measured over days and weeks, so, lol

Reasons you might want to boost are varied, but the biggest one is that (this is a D6 dice pool system) you can give away Thrust die to gunners/boarders/sensor operatives/other crew as it makes sense to symbolize the ship making maneuvers to give them optimal trajectories
pixelmutt.org
Thrust also uses fuel (though the mechanic there isn't done yet, rn it's on a 1:1 basis)
pixelmutt.org
At 2x, crew start having to roll saves vs the additional G forces and take stun damage for failed degrees of success.

At 3x, the damage changes to lethal and the ship itself risks damage due to all of the strains being put on the hull
pixelmutt.org
Watching a lot of scifi lately, I decided to model a Thrust rating like this:

Your Thrust rating is the level of acceleration that your ship can perform over a long period of time (for ship combat purposes, at least) while minimizing risk to crew and superstructure. You can go up to 3X your Thrust.
pixelmutt.org
Something silly in my spess game is that I wanted to have a way to model ship Thrust while also keeping in mind that a ship's drive can almost certainly put out a lot more Gs than it can reasonably compensate for, crew-wise (this is a no-cheap-antigrav setting, so inertial dampening is rare and $$$)

On our walk back the car, I (14ish at the time? Scrawny but a bit chubby) am ahead of the pack when the giant fucking boar leaps into the middle of the path - maybe 10 yards ahead of me, maybe less - and just stares me down.

I thought I was going to die. It instead ran off.

I agree with this x3
