Is there any decent rundown on what all this drama’s about? In generally I’ve only seen gripes about Bluesky’s management in passing and get a vague gist around issues with moderation and suspension of accounts, some of which appear heavy handed or unreasonable, but don’t really know the full story.

That being said, “No Kings” is a perfect name for these protest movements, flawless, no notes. And it’s clear the Right thinks so too, since they go out of their way not to mention the protests by their name, instead calling them “hate America rallies”. More of this, there’s power in words

Maybe, but the left is terrible at naming things, sloganeering, and simply communicating basic ideas, often leaving themselves unnecessarily vulnerable to bad faith attacks to those who know better. So I’m all in favour of keeping things simple, direct, and unambiguous in intent.

They act like the transition occurs overnight. Trump’s been in power for less than a year, with three to go. It’s like they’re literally waiting to be lined up against a wall with a firing squad pointed at them before going “ok, *now* we’re a full fascism, act accordingly”

It’s downright stupid that this keeps happening. There’s a wealth of best-practice data-security measures which are well established, and it’s absurd that raw verification materials should to be retained at all post-verification, instead of a one-way hash. These leaks are preventable.

There’s a genius to all of this in that it simultaneously protects the identity of the protestors, and makes it patently absurd when the state tries to declare them domestic terrorists. Hard to instil fear of violent unrest when your footage is just purple unicorns and happy frogs mocking ICE agents

I’ve always liked the *idea* of ideological diversity, but I’ve yet to see a conservative columnist who isn’t a partisan clown with a nasty streak. I know the default response is “that’s just all conservatives”, but I know people who lean conservative in real life who aren’t like this, so they exist

Exactly, most of the problems in countries ending with “stan” were directly a result of Cold War and Colonial-power intervention. At least draw from Western history for your insults.

Do I need to be careful because:
- Koalas are fucking *on* the road?
- They’re getting freaky on either side, but keep your eyes on the road you pervs?
