Attorneys are taught that precedent is our foundation

When we bring a case, this is our roadmap, and our bible-so if we stray from stare decisis, there’d better be an extraordinary reason why

Then the MAGA Supreme Court started overturning bedrock rulings

And now the rule of law is crumbling
New in PN: How the Supreme Court taught Trump to rewrite history

"If you’re wondering where Trump learned the trick of recasting American history as uniquely belonging to him, look no further than the current Supreme Court’s manipulation of the core legal principle of stare decisis."

👉 When the state brings violence into neighborhoods — when it throws elders to the ground, fills bodies with bullets, jails people without cause, and takes children from their homes — we must be able to bear witness, writes Dean Jackson (@dwj88.bsky.social), but Big Tech firms are silencing dissent.

Must the public make only meek requests for accountability and transparency? That is not democracy, writes Dean Jackson.

Protesters in Portland showing up in costume embody joy as resistance. If those who oppress us can be absurd, so can those fighting for freedom. Humor and creativity remind us that rebellion isn’t only anger—it’s the courage to laugh, to dance, and to exist loudly in the face of control. #Pinks

Breaking: Text messages of Young Republican groups across the country have just been leaked.

They talk about putting Democrats in “gas chambers,” attacking “Jews,” calling Black people “watermelon people,” calling to “rape” their enemies, and bringing back slavery.

When Cosplay Kristi “more plastic than brains” Noem tried to turn America’s airports into propaganda screens, public servants refused to bow. From JFK to Portland, they chose law over lies & democracy over fear.

California, this November 4th, the whole country is counting on you.

Prop 50 puts our elections back on a level playing field, preserves independent redistricting over the long term, and lets the people decide.

So return your ballot today. Vote yes on 50.

Far too many institutions are bending the knee to Trump and preemptively giving in to his demands. It’s encouraging to see these airports refuse to entertain this administration’s lawlessness. Kudos to them — hopefully their courage inspires others to follow suit. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

“The courts should…”

Under the current administration, the courts are being ignored.

And we still getting beaten and shot whether we run or comply.

If men with guns and masks tried to pull me out of my car, I'd fight back. Courts should reject any claims by the government that this is aggression by the person being detained, resisting arrest, or that they're a flight risk.

The largest demonstration during Trump’s first term was around 750 events.

CNN: Multiple airports are refusing to play Kristi Noem’s government-funded video blaming Democrats for the government shutdown.

“We believe the Hatch Act clearly prohibits use of public assets for political purposes and messaging,” one airport said.
