Al Gore didn’t hold back: The Trump admin is “attacking the heart of truth,” twisting facts like the Nazis did in the 1930s. From climate denial to rewriting the Ukraine war, it’s all about power—not reality.
Gore warned the U.S. is under siege—and every former leader should speak out like he did.

The swarm of blackhawks over Grant Park in downtown Chicago is not only unnecessary, but menacing AND inflammatory as well. But that is Trump’s whole point isn’t it? Happening right NOW!

RFK Jr.’s false claims linking Tylenol to autism are extremely dangerous.

He’s spreading fear that leads parents to mistrust doctors, skip safe treatments, and blame themselves for their children’s autism.

It’s manipulation disguised as concern, and real families pay the price.

Today in history, 2009: President Obama is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” Three other presidents have won: Teddy Roosevelt (1906), Woodrow Wilson (1919) and Jimmy Carter (2002).

Who is leading the opposition to Prop 50??

Not citizens. Not American voters. Just an anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ MAGA millionaire.

Stop the GOP election rigging.
Vote YES on Prop 50!

Melania Trump: Born in Yugoslavia, came to the U.S. on travel visa but broke the law immediately by working here as a "model." Then somehow she gets fast tracked to get an "Einstein" or "Genius" visa and becomes a citizen 10 years after arriving -- one year after marrying Donald. 🤔

Dorothy Arzner (1897-1979): Hollywood Pioneer

Born in 1897 and coming of age in the silent-era studios, she was one of the first women in Hollywood to successfully move from silent to sound film, directed over 20 features between 1927 and 1943, and became the first woman member of the Directors Guild of America. After studying pre-medicine for a time, she shifted to the film industry in 1919, taking a job as a stenographer at Famous Players-Lasky (later Paramount). She soon worked as an editor and writer, cutting films like Blood and Sand (1922), and by 1927 she directed her first feature, Fashions for Women.

At a time when female directors were rare and often ephemera, she sustained a career over more than a decade, directing for major studios and commanding real authority on set. In 1929 she directed *The Wild Party*, not only one of Paramount’s early talkies but also the scene where she innovated the boom microphone: confronted with the difficulty of hidden mics restricting actors’ movement, she rigged a microphone to a fishing pole so sound would follow the performers fluidly. That innovation wasn’t just technical—it was symbolic of the freedom she believed cinema could afford.

Throughout her career she cast and nurtured actresses like Katharine Hepburn, Claudette Colbert, Lucille Ball and Rosalind Russell, giving them parts that dared to question conventional femininity. Behind the scenes, she lived boldly: she dressed in trousers and suits when most women were pressured into skirts, and she maintained relationships that defied norms in an era of strict social conformity.

After leaving mainstream directing in 1943, she taught filmmaking at institutions like Pasadena Playhouse and UCLA, influencing later filmmakers. She died on October 1, 1979 in La Quinta, California.

The Lone Star is a rating. I’m hoping Texas can get another whole damn star in 2026.

It’s still crazy early but polls like this have to worry Republican Senate leadership for 2026. If Paxton wins his primary, he is very vulnerable in the general election.

If it’s a Blue Wave, which is very plausible, he could fall victim to it. Even in Texas.

This man, a 34x convicted felon, represents the very worst kind of evil and detriment to humanity.

I am not a violent person. I wouldn’t and couldn’t harm another human being. I am not wired that way.

The convicted felon cannot make that same statement. He wants to destroy us all.

The stakes are enormous, not just for Portland, but for democracy itself. Can any president declare a rebellion at will and send troops into American streets? Or will the courts hold the line and tether power to the truth?

…troop deployment only in cases of actual rebellion, not to score political points or intimidate voters. Yet Trump’s lawyers are citing an 1827 case to claim presidents are beyond judicial review.

The White House painted Portland as “a wasteland of firebombs and beatings,” but numerous on-the-ground reports show the city remains largely peaceful. Protests are confined to a single downtown block, not the “war zone” Trump describes.

Immergut’s injunction makes clear: federal law allows…

🧵Today, a 9th Circuit panel, including 2 Trump appointees, will hear arguments on whether Trump has unchecked power to deploy troops to U.S. cities. At issue: his attempt to send the National Guard to Portland, despite Judge Immergut (also Trump-appointed) ruling the move “untethered to the facts.”
