The bsky decision-makers basically had a social media platform's DREAM dropped straight into their laps--huge surges of new users with tons of active, creative users excited to engage--and the best they have to offer for responses to their bad choices is "omg you people are soooo annoying 🙄"

Absolutely wild to me that the folks in charge of bsky were quickly gifted a massive audience who was willing to give financial support and word-of-mouth marketing to friends/family, then decided the best thing to do for the future was everything that made people leave Twitter and mock their users

I had a similar thing happen with my art on Twitter. It hugely messed with how I saw my own work and what I saw as "worth making". I really only realized how deeply it had gotten to me once I was off the platform.

The sad thing about the owners' contempt towards the userbase is that Bluesky is genuinely a far better Twitter alternative, from a user experience the lack of an algorithm that only seemed to push conflict and suppress people I was following is a staggering difference. You got a good thing here!

I'm really grateful you put these together! It's really fun getting to read through these when they hit my inbox :)

KoG is our first-ever 2D show, so our production process was COMPLETELY new and so exciting - see for yourself!

Any time I've done a commission for somebody, I want to be able to take pride in both the final piece, and how I communicated/handled the service side of things.
I can't wrap my head around the idea of being satisfied with delivering something that isn't what the person wanted/paid for.

I dunno, even on a base level it's just a failure of "treat people the way you want to be treated". I don't like dealing with this stuff as a client, so I make sure I don't do the same thing to my own clients. I don't think it needs to be more complicated than that, tbh

There are situations where a transaction may get cut short and things like cancellations and refunds happen, sure. You talk it out, find a mutual resolution, you go on with life.

Ghosting someone who has paid for your work before the thing is done/in their hands is just a massive slap in the face.

I've had commissions pending for years with no response to my messages while the artist eagerly takes on new work.

I'm now trying to wrangle stuff with USPS with artist's backerkit rewards after no response to 8+ messages the past several weeks asking for a shipping address fix.

I'm tired, y'all.

I love supporting small artists through commissions and merch, but am regularly deeply disappointed by how many creators make themselves fully unavailable to contact about the thing they are being paid to deliver.

If you're willing to ghost your clients before the transaction is done, DON'T SELL.

People have asked for a Scourge print for a while now, so I'll have this one at upcoming conventions!
A drawing of Scourge the Hedgehog looking devious as he lifts his sunglasses and points towards the viewer. A text element reads " Hail to the King, and features the name Scourge the Hedgehog in both Japanese and English text.

Oh you didn't just make a Scourge print here, you made THE Scourge print 🏆⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I really loved it! There's a handful of weird writing decisions that have aged pretty poorly and later seasons took the plot in very weird directions (I had us stop watching after end of season 4). Even so, it's got great humor and drama with a lot of style.

First one! I watched the series in full as it was coming out and rewatched some of the early seasons with my wife over the past year or two.

I'd love to believe Dexter is a meta commentary on how the villages that raise us can also fail us when ignoring obvious signs but I know this series too well and know the reality is just more likely that the Showtime writers never thought to give the guy Ritalin
