Thanks Emmy I love your face!!!

I almost corrected someone in a comment section of a popular post but I stopped myself, please clap

I actually left my apartment overnight! I have visited three different locations and seen two different people I like!

Also, reminder: the outside world continues to have ~dogs~

She has one video simply called "trauma" which is all about releasing trauma in the body through the psoas muscle. It was SO much better than I expected. So comfy and healing 💖

(I need to get in the habit of doing that one after therapy each week, lol)

Plus, a forum of like-minded people that will help cheer you on, listen, offer advice, etc!

Basically, think: whole-body meditation, mindfulness, and breathing exercises
+ exercises to help you relax your body and let go of bracing patterns
+ pilates-type strength training to help build muscle strength and stability (but ONLY with those first two in mind)

Okay, now that I've been using it for several months, I can confidently say: this is a fantastic app for really gentle exercises (and some challenge ones!)--plus a kind, supportive community.

It's meant for us bendy folks, but honestly, I think it'd be good for anyone!

I think I'll be okay. Decrease alcohol, increase exercise, keep going to the doctor annually and getting stuff tested, continue therapy, maybe see about a POTS-friendly nutritionist, and get a couple of tools that can help. Nbd

...At least I'm pretty good at sleeping, lol?
primordial.bsky.social
Good luck. I know it's really hard. 💖
primordial.bsky.social
It can! There's a strong correlation between high cholesterol and anorexia.
primordial.bsky.social
... I also know drinking alcohol is pretty horrible for POTS, and I do it anyway~

BUT I can say as I've had time off these past few weeks, I've felt less need/desire to drink.

The stress of this job really has been doing a number on me.
primordial.bsky.social
Of course, exercise is not *impossible* with POTS, but... it's very difficult for 1,000 reasons!

Not to mention that we need MORE salt, not less.

Argh. I need a POTS sherpa.

And I'm remembering this, from "Health at Every Size" by Lindo Bacon:

"Exercise can cure, prevent, or minimize most of the major chronic diseases and disturbances, incl. diabetes, insulin resistance, hypertension, high cholesterol levels, cancer, digestive disorders, circulatory disorders, etc."
primordial.bsky.social
I like my doctor--but she's sometimes a little more hesitant to do testing than I'd prefer. I'm not switching yet, but if and when I do, it will be for someone who understands, "My probable POTS makes me think I'm constantly dying; can you please put up with my hypochondria about it??"
primordial.bsky.social
No but fr. Half the symptoms of heart disease or diabetes are *also* symptoms of POTS.

I'm trying to read about heart disease simply for "I have to live to be at least 64" reasons but my POTS creates like half these symptoms!!! 😫
primordial.bsky.social
POTS can do stuff like make your lower legs purple and tingly when you stand up too fast or stand up after lying down a bunch, and that sure does overlap with some heart stuff! It's scary!!

I bought one about a year ago. Have not used it once. ✨️

(It's fine, I just bought a 3D printer design file from them lol. Very little culty intent)

Fun fact: Christina Ricci is the actor I've most often been compared to.

You get someone with high cholesterol who needs a low-sodium diet to give a speech along with someone with POTS. Then you explain most humans are kind of in the middle of those things. Good sciencey logic times
