I'm back on Creature Feature! I love this podcast & if you want to hear about medical advancements that we've made with the help of our animal friends (& you want to hear me embarrass myself by not knowing the color pattern of a giraffe) you're going love it too!

The stewards who protect and interpret our National Park Service sites across the country are under fire.

In the wake of 1,000 employees being unceremoniously let go from the agency, the very preservation of our national treasures are at stake.

(Would any current or former U.S. National park rangers/workers like to come on my animals podcast to talk about how cool the national park system is?)

(I would like to have scientists, naturalists, evolutionary biologists, climate scientists, conservationists, to come on my podcast Creature Feature to have a platform for their research. Can I get some suggestions? Also I’m still just a bird don’t worry)

It was cold today and Bobbin had his big coat on. Not sure why he's leaning to one side. Maybe he's got something heavy in his pocket? 😂 #ukwildlife #birds #wildlife @rspb.bsky.social

Some days the mirror is not your friend.

New #animaltooluse report by Jason Love et al. in @wilsonornithsoc.bsky.social. A Northern Cardinal repeatedly picked up gravel, flew to a car mirror and struck the mirror with the stone.

(It's a Ford Escape SUV, not clear if that mattered to the bird) 🧪🪶
A composite set of photos showing a small red bird picking up a rock from a gravel carpark beside a car tyre, then successively carrying the rock up to a car mirror and striking the mirror with the stone before dropping it. The car is a white SUV. This is Figure 1 from the research paper by Love et al. titled: 'Agonistic tool use? A Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) uses pebbles to strike its reflection', published in The Wilson Journal of Ornithology.
