A juvenile little grebe on a lake. It is mainly different shades on brown, with a cream fluffy bottom. Its abdomen is also cream coloured. It’s swimming to the left, its head held upright. Such a lovely bird. I have been photographing the little grebe couple and their successful broods (3 successful of 4 total). This one is from the third brood, born in July.

This is what an Egyptian goose looks like as a baby. Seriously the cutest thing ever. In this photo, the gosling is standing sideways, to the right. Its abdomen is cream coloured, the top is brown with some cream patches. Its head is cream with a broad brown stripe at the top. Its eyes and beak are a similar grey-green colour.

I’ve posted this photo before. It’s a bit blurry but I still love it. It shows two crows on a cricket pitch. One, the parent is on the right, looking down to the ground and resigned to its fate. Meanwhile, the teen to the left, is screaming for food. Its mouth is wide open, showing the red inside. Wings are a bit out and it’s stomping towards its parent. Crow kids seem to be just like human ones.
