feel the weight of those no longer seen as they weigh upon my day. Their voices reverberating still, some days louder than others. I carry their grief with me along with mine. None wants to go. As their shadows walk behind. Doggedly kicking my heels until finally they walk beside. Overtaking my steps forcing me to confront their grief and along with mine. Carrying it as though a suitcase some days heavier than others. I open it only to find a lifetime of their memories tumble downwards to lay jumbled at my feet. Crying for reaons long forgotten along with these trinkets of lives past. Worn ticket stubs, plastic rings, dried flowers, a handkerchief her mirror. Touching moments of pain still fresh on each and every one. This subtle #ache resides permanently as though etched upon my life. An intricate map that journeys daily through out my heart and then my mind. A sort of game bird, it is not very large and has beautiful blue, white, and gray feathers with a long dark tail. Its eyes are fixed on us, but it seems quite friendly anyway. 🤗📷

a redpoll sits on my garden feeder full of sunflower hearts + some seed mix. It is a rare sight in the garden indeed and has followed a flock of Siskins I had managed to attract. It is a greyish brown bird with splodges of red on its head and breast. It is dripping wet as believe it or not it is still raining

Today's #BirdOfTheDay I will post on time! (early even) The prompt is #StareDown, and a delightfully cute oak titmouse (lifer!) did just that as I snapped its picture.
