Here's a Sedge Warbler passing through the garden in late August, on its way to cross the Sahara.
It stopped off here for 3 days, where it enjoyed regular baths in the dustbin lid, deep n the willow scrub.
I hope it returns in the spring.

Our picture shows a dramatic sunset sky above the silhouettes of leafless winter trees and the dark outlines of nearby rooftops taken from my garden here in Ireland year day evening. The lower part of the sky glows with deep golden-yellow light, as if the sun has just dipped below the horizon. This golden glow gradually blends upward into soft purples, then into a deep, rich blue at the top of the image. The trees stand tall in the foreground, their bare branches forming a delicate, tangled pattern against the bright sky. A few small birds can be seen in mid-flight near the treetops, appearing as tiny dark shapes. The rooftops on either side frame the scene, but remain mostly in shadow, letting the vibrant sky dominate the picture. Overall, the image captures a peaceful, moody moment at dusk, a contrast between dark silhouettes and a sky full of layered colour. Finally our picture is finished off with a simple white border frame.

Our picture shows a peaceful riverside landscape washed entirely in warm golden light, as if the world has been dipped in molten amber. The sun hangs high in the sky,large, bright, and glowing intensely, casting a sweeping golden hue across everything below. Its reflection shimmers perfectly on the still water, creating a second glowing orb on the rivers surface. In the center distance, tall leafless trees stand like dark silhouettes against the brilliant sky. A lone bird, likely an egret, is wading quietly in the shallow water. The river is calm, with only gentle ripples and scattered twigs breaking its surface. Bushes and small trees frame the water on both sides, their branches appearing almost black against the overwhelming golden brightness. In the far distance to the left, the faint outline of a small tower or steeple rises above the treeline. The entire scene feels tranquil, dreamlike, and almost otherworldly. No breeze to stir the woven calm, No sound but water’s gentle call; Here time slows down, and hearts grow soft Where evening’s golden quiet falls. And in this hush, the day exhales, A final breath, so warm and deep, A promise whispered to the night: Some beauty never goes to sleep.
