On a Zoom call this afternoon my friend asked when I was going to move somewhere warm where I could take photos every day. I reached down next to my chair, picked up my camera, and snapped this photo through the window.
"I like it here," I replied.

It was a MISSION to find this for today’s #birdoftheday theme among the berries. We’ve got an upside down Eastern Phoebe- not your typical berry grabber. #birds

A recent paper concluded that the loss of vultures increased human deaths by >4% because of the large negative shock to sanitation. What happened? Painkillers used to treat cattle were toxic to vultures + deliberate poisonings. What's being done: wapo.st/3XUWoma (gift). 🌎 #birds
Humans killed millions of vultures. Now people are paying the price.
The near-extinction of vultures in India has had severe consequences.

Today's #birdoftheday theme set by @robcrank68.bsky.social is #Gannets.
One of my fav birds.

I like the greenery it's carrying (cp to seaweed, which I see more often).

Today’s #birdoftheday is any bird on a wire. I didn’t have it in me today to go through 5000 bird photos to find one, but luckily when I was out this song sparrow post on a wire fence for me! #birds
