Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Pigeons&Doves. An (uncommon here) Common Ground dove, a #BackyardBird #birds San Diego county
A small dove, big on cuteness 🥰
A very cute Common Ground dove is about half the size of a Mourning dove. It is light gray on its back and light brown under. A few black spots adorn its wings. It has a pick beak. It is searching for seeds in tiny smooth gravel.

I have Finally Captured a Eurasian wren This bird has been my Nemesis for Over 5 years Attempting to get a clear picture 😂😂 Thankfully I Got It

That is a wonderful shot of a Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) in mid-song. These birds are famous for having a voice that is surprisingly loud and complex for their tiny size. Image Details • Subject: A small, plump, brown songbird (Wren) perched on a wooden structure. • Action: The bird is captured with its beak wide open, likely singing its characteristic loud, trilling song. • Physical Features: * Tail: It features the iconic "cocked" tail, pointing almost vertically. • Plumage: Warm brown feathers with darker barred patterns on the wings and tail. • Face: A pale "eyebrow" (supercilium) is visible above its dark eye. • Background: The bird is perched on a weathered wooden fence or rail, with a blurred backdrop of dark greens and blues, making the warm tones of the bird pop. Fun Fact Despite being one of the smallest birds in Europe and North America, a Wren’s song is technically about ten times louder than a crow's, relative to its body weight!
