Living in San Diego north county - Ca
A bit of color in the south sky about 15 minutes after sunset. Definitely no fog in the valley below with the relative humidity in the 20s today.

Umm, Ravi. You’re not a small bird, that little brown plastic jar lid is not a very good perch…

Indeed, he turned and the lid zoomed out from under him. A very startled Ravi flew off the table and landed about six feet away. Poor Ravi!

Took him a minute to decide it was safe to finish his meal.

As some of us are wont to do today, Ravi is having seconds and even thirds. Not judging 😋 😊
I’m sure he will ‘run off’ the extra calories 😂

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate, and happy Thursday to everyone else!

From earlier today, Mr Anna’s looked like he had something weird going on with his head. But zooming in reveals a prismatic rainbow created by sunlight through the sugar water in the feeder 🌈

What a redhead ❤️

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who's coming to save you?

I’m feeling pretty good about my chances

This large kiddo was walking in the field with his Mom I think. He was bigger than both his parents and his feather development was very advanced. Most migrating juniors don't have their red skin patch on their forehead, but his was developing already. A very mature juvie.

Hmm, I wonder which is the sunny side of this Small-leaf rose?

1- three newly opened blooms on the side of bush not shaded by a Desert Willow shedding its leaves.

2- up close of a lovely little native rose that is increasingly losing habitat in San Diego county 😞

Sporting nice Fall colors, a couple Monarch butterflies have emerged from their chrysalids. One is doing rapid wing stretches indicating it is ready to try flying. Looks to me like one male one female. Fly far little ones! 🦋

I figured! A little over an hour later, it’s visit number two.
He’s still a little nervous, now it’s weedwhacker making noise in the nearby grove. I’m with you, Ravi. Peace and quiet is good. 🪶

A small grasshopper is swaying to its own music this morning. It makes a couple failed attempts to jump up on the sunny patio chair base.

Just for fun, I tossed a few snacks on the patio. I haven’t done that for a while. This was near the end of his visit and he trotted off to do #roadrunner things. 🪶

It’s 10:30 and already mid 70s F, seems like roadrunner weather to me!
Hi Ravi! He’s not too fond of the loud leaf blowers down the hill (I turned off the audio, I’m not a fan either).

It’s early so I’m hoping for another visit later.
