Sex workers are predominantly minorities. The nefarious intentions are hardly even hidden.

I understand that it's discouraging that these battles come up again and again and that we never get to permanently just say "NO".

But if you want a silver lining, think about how frustrated that makes you feel. They're not the only ones who can do that. We can also refuse to stop asking.

A small victory! Chat Control has been tabled for now, but it can [and likely will] be brought up for vote again in December

In the meantime, EU citizens will need to continue pressuring their respective govts to oppose chat control

IF you're in the EU, UK, AU, or anywhere with online petitions, create one. They may not listen. But I believe they are a great indicator that these are issues people are willing to VOTE FOR.

This isn't a left or right issue. This AFFECTS ALL OF US. People on the right have also been vocal against this. We must settle our grievances, both legitimate and not, to save lives from poorly written legislation and opportunistic tech companies.

Yes, these companies are storing this information. Yes, they can be broken into. Yes, they have a lot of very valuable information.
