Browsing Steam Next Fest, I feel like the subgenre "bullet hell" has been co-opted by overhead twin-stick "survivors" games when it used to be associated with scrolling shoot 'em ups.

I don't know; they just seem a little too different to be coupled together?

Once again I've listened to a lot of EPs and a few albums. Will probably do my usual social media thread of notable tunes later this year.

(Conversely my YouTube VGM playlist will be pretty brief - I've only really played Shinobi and some demos from this year!)

I feel like since the pandemic people have a tier list of how useless online delivery updates from various services are.

(Obviously the best one is the little dot on the map that you can follow in real time.)

Skimmed through the Metaphor Refantazio anniversary stream. Whenever they push a load of merch I always think "can...can I just get the soundtrack CDs and leave the rest?"

Although I'll be happy to skip those too. I've got my P3-5 physical soundtracks (albeit with one broken case) so it's all good.

For #RandomGameSaturday the random number generator pointed me to Mawaru Made In Wario.

I know it got an English release in Twisted, but I picked this up from an online seller long after the GBA was finished. And it's not like there's that much of a language barrier for a collection of microgames.
