Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss. I don't know if it's a comfort, but his work will last and he will be fondly remembered by a lot of people

Syringes such as this were used for urethral irrigations, inserted into the urethra and flushing it out with caustic fluids, such as mercury, which would burn off sores caused by diseases such as syphilis.

When high pressure dominates the UK weather, many expect crisp blue skies and sunshine.

But as seasoned forecasters know, especially in the colder months, high pressure can bring something quite different: Anticyclonic Gloom.

But what is this weather pattern? www.metoffice.gov.uk/blog/2025/wh...
Blog post graphic titled "What is Anticyclonic Gloom?" from the Met Office, dated 13 October 2025. The background features a misty landscape with layers of fog over hills and trees, creating a calm and atmospheric scene.

I have only ever had sticky toffee pudding in pubs and it's great but simultaneously too much. I like apple crumble the way my mum made it with no sugar added to the apples (just in the crumble) so you get sharp and sweet all together 😋

All literary novels should have little b+w illustrations every few pages to remind you what the characters look like.

Also I saw one person requesting that fiction for adults has little pen and ink illustrations and I also want that

Writers should bring back titling chapters like they're mini summaries of what I'm about to read ie chapter 2 wherein our hero meets a gentle lady, kisses a troll and considers marrying a sinister tavern owner to escape troublesome family matters

A woman in my book-signing line at the Heartland Book Festival gave me these miniature versions of my books. So delightful! 📚I'm going to keep this tiny library on my desk. Nearly every book I've written.
