Scientists: have you been the target of an online harassment campaign, doxxing, or weaponized FOIA requests? I'd like to talk to you about steps you had to take to protect your digital security for an upcoming Nature story. (You can be anonymous if necessary.)

RTs appreciated.

If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

#health *shockingly* the gp surgery has received my high blood pressure readings and now requires more blood, urine and an ECG. Obviously I will comply but I already feel very busy and having to slot these into my timetable is frankly extremely stressful.

I ordered some fancy Christmas cards from @presentcorrect.bsky.social which arrived today and you will be glad to know that the person who wrote the label has exactly the sort of handwriting someone who runs or works at a stationers should have

i came across the saying "to follow like a Tantony pig" so I get curious and look it up, but Tantony isnt a place, it's a contraction of St Anthony who is the saint of swineherds, so the proverb means to follow someone like a pig following the hog messiah. alas this information will not pay my bills

A little thing that works for me, maybe it can work for you, is that Black Friday week is also "Focused Unsubscribing Week". EVERY company that ever got you on their mailing list will send an email this week. Make an intention as you enter the week to unsub, not just ignore, to anyone you're over.

DAY 19 – SALE
Today’s piece is a Neolithic Windmill Hill bowl, inspired by some of the earliest pottery ever found in Britain. These simple vessels were used for everyday cooking, something nutritious after a hard day of farming.

I remember having a UBI. It was called “living with my parents,” and I had all my food/shelter needs covered, plus free access to a (shared) TV, music, books, a library card, cars I could borrow and more.

I still worked drudge jobs, because I wanted to buy lots of comics and take girls to movies.
Always grinds my gears when people say "No one would work drudge jobs if there was a UBI"

But even staying completely capitalist, I disagree. If I received a baseline living-wage UBI, and then I was offered REWARDS for drudge jobs, I'd take it! I want to save up for treats and travel and hobbies!
