Because most intelligence reports point to us being at war with the Russian Federation in the medium term, which is going to be quite unpopular.
Unless Farage is PM by then of course, in which case we'll just hand Putin the keys to Sandringham and let him use David Attenborough as an umbrella stand
Utterly surreal that a key part of the pre Budget narrative from the government hasn’t been ‘Russian planes keep buzzing the Essex coast, US support for NATO is looking shaky, and thanks to the Tories our army fits in Old Trafford - that’s why we need to raise taxes’.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

All the supposedly progressive people saying 'Nigel Farage's racism doesn't matter. His fans love it'.

It matters whether the leader of the party leading all the opinion polls is an outright racist. It matters if he called black people 'wogs' and said 'gas them' to Jews. Not everything is a game

Instant wincememory of the sigh of relief heaved when Musk was brought in to consult the first Biff administration on environmental policy. "Finally, an adult..." etc.
Reading The Peripheral and enjoying both the mention of cronuts and a Tesla as a cool desirable car. This was published in 2014 you say?

I remember non-hurtful or insulting antisemitism at my school too. I was held down and had my grandmother's chopped liver ground into my face.
Just youthful hijinks.

Isn't it so weird to deeply know in your bones something obvious with no equivocation, for years and years, and then to one day see articles about people wondering if maybe the incredibly obvious thing you've known this whole time might be happening, as if the media is discovering it now??

Saw the JAWS 50th documentary last night. Wonderful, obviously, but what struck me the most were Spielberg's final remarks on the movie.
"I owe Jaws a huge debt because it guaranteed me final cut, which I've had for 50 years."
Not money. Not budgets. Not prestige.
That's a real artist.

If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?
