It's so clear now that money and cowardice are the most intimate of bedfellows. It's always the ordinary guy with bags of groceries who stands in front of the tank and refuses to move. It's always the ordinary German student with her head in the noose who refuses to pledge allegiance to a tyrant.

He clearly is, as he discusses the controversies in the piece. And yeah, I read Cronenberg's effort in exactly the same way. NFTs were way more of a niche ethical quagmire.
