Just a few pretties from my walk around the neighborhood today. The most magical time of the year 🥰

Fun!! You just put blossoms in honey and let it sit? What are your favorite uses for this honey?
Peony “Coral Charm” and David Austin rose “Desdemona” both bloomed today and I am obsessed!

I went away for a week in early April and spent $40 on a small greenhouse on Amazon. My pet sitter just had to unzip the flaps in the am, close them at night, and all my peppers and tomatoes were super happy!

A better way to approach #NoMowMay is to replace as much of your lawn as you can with native flowers, shrubs, and trees...then it can be #NoMowEver.

Well-controlled non-natives can be included too!

My mom has two beautiful rhododendrons in her yard that were planted in the fifties. I will be propagating them this year!! Here is the red one 🥰

Fun fact: I literally just left these sweet peas in pots in my raised bed all winter and they’re doing the best of all the ways I trialed! They grew out the bottoms of the pots so I’ve just been letting them grow here, along with 1 pea from my cover crop mix.

Still loved them though
I ordered those and they came out totally red. Wishing you better luck!
Lucy knows where to find the warm soil and the spots where I won’t bother her, like the middle of this sunny native bed. Enjoy it while you can, pup, this space is about to explode!

I’ll just be taking soft wood cuttings once it is done blooming, and then also trying hardwood cuttings in the fall.
I will be propagating my mother’s dark purple lilac as one of the first steps in building my nursery business. It was planted in the early 50s!

Had to cut a bunch of my flowers in case the hail destroys them all 🥹

This anemone just popped up! I did not plant it. It is in a spot next to the driveway where I cleared the weeds last year, lay cardboard and mulch, then planted my own flowers. It’s amazing what survives, dormant, waiting for us to reveal it!

Two little red flowering currants, one with blooms one with lots of leaves + golden currant + trilliums coming up! All started as bare root plants in the fall.

Do you mean design patterns,
like from scratch? If so,
you’d need to take classes. If you mean later patterns and clothes to fit, I learned on the internet! Google and sewing blogs. And by just getting started. The world won’t end if it goes poorly so why not try? That’s my philosophy.
