practical examples and kids understand it just fine. The problem shows up when people don't realize that a lot of high level theory is the same lessons they learned watching cartoons as kids, just at a more complicated level.

And when I talk about this I always talk about children's cartoons, because kids shows, the good ones, deal with extremely heavy, complicated topics; love, death, loss, war, suffering, racism, sexism, classism. And they do it in 15-30 minutes using simple, direct language and understandable

Talking about my therapist about how, a lot of people, they think they're dumb but what's actually going on is society is telling them they're dumb because they don't know a lot of jargon, or a subject is difficult and frustrating, or the knowledge they have aren't considered smart people knowledge

The Immigration system has been a bizarre, cruel, deliberately obtuse and dysfunctional Kafka bureaucracy hell for as long as I've been alive and probably as long as it's existed and I am somewhat heated to see it being gassed up like this like ICE is a departure rather than the desired outcome
