It makes perfect sense because their goal is to create a dehumanized out-group they can justify exterminating en masse. Identifying members of any actually existing organization is not the purpose of declaring people members of antifa.

Saying someone is a "member of antifa" is like saying someone is a "member of socialism" or something. it makes zero sense. But they can't use the ideological form of the word because it makes it too clear what the ideology actually is and it would include our grandpas

Yeah. The massive destruction of vehicles gave the whole game away. That's cannon fire, not machine guns or even RPGs. I sincerely wonder if Palestinian forces intentionally killed any Israeli civilians at all given the scope of the IDF massacre of Israeli civvies.
