I'm challenging the federal administration’s unlawful deployment of the National Guard in Portland with a coalition of states.

Sending the National Guard to peaceful protests is unconstitutional and only serves to stoke fear and escalate violence in our cities.

The first people to obey the law should be those charged with enforcing it, and those who violate the law, whether they be police, military, or elected officials, should be held accountable for their crimes. End of story.

Evidence from research studies consistently shows that immigrants commit fewer crimes than U.S. born citizens. If we wanted to make America safer, we'd be welcoming more immigrants in, not abusing their rights and disappearing them.

ICE is arresting innocent people and U.S. citizens, engaging in racial profiling, shooting people with pepper balls who pose no danger to anyone, zip-tying little children, denying people due process, committing abuse, and disappearing people. They should be arrested.

This administration is flooding the zone so furiously that people have largely lost track of the lethal attacks on boats in the Caribbean, the gov’t shutdown, the economy, failed release of the Epstein files & so much else. It’s a tactic of would-be strongmen.
