I really think at its heart philosophy is one giant battle, taking place over many eras and nations, between people who are basically pleasant bureaucrats and people who are sexy murder poets, and it’s both super important and super boring that the pleasant bureaucrats must win.

The Hank Scorpio episode of the Simpsons was a lot of fun and it's a shame the show (which is still going) does not produce comedy of that calibre any more.

One of the funny* things about the Jenrick defection is his articles basically amount to "Reheated Thatcherism and bungs to pensioners have broken Britain, and that's why I'm joining the Reheated Thatcherism and Bungs to Pensioners Party".
Don't know if this sort of rhetoric has caught up with the fact that Reform's base are the most dependent on welfare of any party's

The thing is, the right wing has been stark bollock naked since the French revolution and yet we've spent the intervening centuries acting like they have a disagreement about tax rates instead of profound neurological damage and we don't know what politics that recognises this would look like.
