Wild that it's mid October in Scotland and we were out in just t-shirts today 😬

This is why I love the tags that make it clear what kind of ending it is (and try to make sure I use them on my on works!) - the tag system is so good for being able to make choices!

You know what I need? I need reviews of tech products that are done by autistic people, so that when I'm looking at, say, headphone and ear bud reviews, I know if these items are going to give me sensory issues, if they're going to be uncomfortable, etc. Anyone know of any autistic tech reviewers?

Here's my Day 1 of #OFMDWhumptober! Featuring a stabbed and lost Stede, and INCREDIBLE art by @thatjadeykinns.bsky.social! Enjoy!

Summary:

Stede didn't know where he was. The trees all looked the same, looming trunks and hanging vines. The sun had begun to set, saturating everything in greys and monotone as the light drained from the sky.

Kinktober day 2: free use/waxplay

Another late kinktober 👍. Enjoy

Stede is fully naked . Ed is behind him, holding a reddish pink wax candle above Stede’s chest. The wax is dripping and landing on Stede’s chest

You can get very basic ones on the NHS but they're often badly fitted and the wait times for assessment are looooooooong. If you want a properly fitted one or need a motorised one, you're on the hook for thousands :(

Yeah, luckily walking sticks are one of the cheaper mobility aids out there so I could be in a much stickier position! Wheelchair users get maaaassively fucked over on pricing, it's unreal

(And when i say ' a little bit eh', I mean it's beginning to bend and get pretty loose as a foldable one, so it's going to need replaced regardless - I can either replace it every few months with another cheapy, or get a pricier one that will last properly)

I also want to add that this is what white cis privilege looks like. I have the privilege to choose this for myself. Others do not possess this privilege to reject.

If you enjoy my thread, I want you to think about what it means not being able to choose but having that choice thrust upon you.

I am someone with blue hair and a rose ring. This is empowering on a daily basis.

It is the power to reject societal expectations of what "pretty femininity" looks like; it is power to sit in my own Self without catering to the male gaze.

As a fashion historian, I will die on this hill: the point of having blue hair and nose rings (or spiky nails or stripper heels or tattoos or an all-black wardrobe) is not to look pretty or cool. It's to look (and feel) powerful--something many young American women crave right now. And it's working.

Ngl I resent the fact that I'm going to have to spend a fairly significant chunk of money on having a decent mobility aid, but it is what it is.
