This WaPo editorial presents a misleading revisionist history of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s criminal cases against Trump.

Then it has the gall to compare that to Trump’s overt targeting of his perceived enemies.

Really embarrassing stuff.

But the mere fact that a legal tool might be available does not mean it should be used. The
current rage over Grassley's revelation shows why. Smith showed little restraint in his pursuit of a former president. He charged Trump for official acts he took as president. He sought a gag order to limit Trump's ability to criticize the prosecution. He tried to accelerate the case to try a leading presidential candidate before the 2024 election.

Trump, in his Truth Social post, said that:

Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first phase of the peace plan
All of the captives will be released very soon
Israel will withdraw their troops to an agreed-upon line
That will be the first step towards a strong and durable peace
All parties will be treated fairly
Trump also thanked mediators from Qatar, Egypt and Turkiye

What a line from the Pope! I am so pleased he is carrying on Pope Francis’ advocacy for immigrants.

More pointedly, the pope said, "Someone who says, I'm against abortion, but is in favor of the death penalty is not really pro-life. Someone who says, I'm against abortion but I'm in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States, I don't know if that's pro-life."
