I have removed my earlier repost of an extract from Anne Frank’s diary. It purported to be a direct quote, but it wasn’t. Here is the original diary entry for the day mentioned, from the copy of her book given to me by my parents for Easter 1982. Accuracy matters.

An extract from the Diary of Anne Frank dated 13 January 1943. She describes people being dragged off the street and families torn apart.
