🚨 Senate passes bill to resolve shutdown clash, punting on DHS for two weeks

71-29.

Now to the House—expected to vote Monday.

Senate passes bill to resolve shutdown clash, punting on DHS for two weeks
The House is not in Washington and plans to vote when it returns Monday. That means a government shutdown this weekend, which will have little impact if it remains brief.

The thing that confounds me the most about the Epstein files (aside from all the sexual assault horror) is how these adults have so much time to be emailing their pedo friends. Like, I love my friends but I am hard pressed to send a text every couple months, let alone custom font emails. #Epstein

Huge scandal that Minneapolis has been crawling with terrorists this whole time. They've been living among us undercover as poets and nurses. And would've continued to, had it not been for the work of our bravest child kidnappers

My neighbor told me he keeps losing falcons to the widening gyre so I asked how many falcons he has and he said he just goes to the falconry and gets a new falcon afterwards so I said it sounds like he’s just feeding falcons to drown with the ceremony of innocence and then Yeats started crying.

The official policy of the government of the United States of America is that they will murder anyone they want, that they will tell any lie necessary to justify that murder, and that no one who resists them has any rights they are bound to respect.

My real job is very serious- I have a lot of power and responsibility to ensure positive health outcomes for many of our community’s most vulnerable. Nestled within that job are dozens of far less serious jobs, most of which are some sort of farce. Today, that job was Poop Detective.

Musk says he was inspired by science fiction and comic books, and wants to create Starfleet (apparently unaware of how woke that would be)

The interviewer says he'd love to just get "beamed" back to New York, instead of flying.

Musk seems confused until the interviewer clarifies "like Star Trek."

It’s harsh price to pay, but maybe eternal cold is the penalty Texas must endure to be rid of him.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was spotted earlier today, January 20, 2026, on a plane heading to Laguna Beach as the state of Texas braces for a rare ice threat and arctic cold front.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.
