So, as you might know, I have been in the process of tracking the activities of DOGE staff across the federal government. And now I've built an auto-updating website to browse the data

It's not done (lots more content to write), but news is moving fast, so here it is dogetrack.info

Enjoy!
DOGE Track: Tracking The Damage
A website tracking the various activities of the DOGE wrecking crew across government. Sunlight is the best disinfectant!

"Design is now in the highest level of the government ever – there's nowhere higher that we can go unless one day the president also happens to be a designer, which would be interesting.”

these people are so fucking stupid
From this vapid interview with Joe Gebbia, I learned that he is workin from Austin, Texas. That the NDS has some amazing talent they refuse to name, and that they had created a FIFTH web page (safedc.gov) at some point. FIVE total pages, people!

There has been some evidence that these pages are AI generated in the past, using v0.dev and shadcdn instead of USWDS

Seriously, how are they so bad at this? I've got a goofy little hobby project and it has navigation and search despite being a static site and all they have are big images and bold text, sound and fury signifying nothing

Have any of you ever FOIAed visitor logs at an agency? I realized I should have FOIAed OPM and GSA, given the reports of DOGE workers from other agencies working there, but is that going to be fruitful at any point soon?

A drinking game where you drink every time this administration refers to unleashing something. It’s a turgid phrasing made even worse by its ludicrous overuse

it’s also a thing where people can be convinced. the right got some people worked up about trans women in sports but possible to get people a lot more worked up about individual/parental rights, genital inspectors, etc
I think Democrats should double down on trans rights now. It's obvious that most voters don't care about it so you might as well stick with your principles and goad Republicans into focusing on it at the expense of everything else so they're the ones who look like freaks.

This need for a legible social order expresses itself in what social psychologists call "system justification." We have a propensity to justify & defend the social order we are born into-- *even if we are at the bottom of that order* --because a system that makes sense is preferable to uncertainty.

Duffy is a completely unserious person who is focusing on this because he has undone all the Airline Passenger Rights enacted under Biden and Buttigieg and he doesn't want people to focus on that. Ironic, of course, because if you're delayed you're going to want some comfy clothes and shoes.
Duffy on his demand that air travelers not wear slippers or pajamas: "It honors our country ... don't take your shoes off and put your feet on the chair ahead of you"
