Here's the problem: CEO life is literally not possible for all 350 million Americans and your job is to make it as close to attainable as possible for the people under you purview. You just... refuse to do it. I am not an expert on morality but imo this is a moral abdication in extremis.

If y'all think this press conference is funny, just wait until the second-day stories come out where right-wing pundits and politicians flip a nutty over it.

How cosmically funny would it be if Republicans trying to make Mamdani the Avatar of Socialism ends up blowing up in their faces?

I might die of laughter.
Q: would you feel comfortable living in NYC under a Mamdani administration ?

TRUMP: I would. I really would.

One of the unexpected advantages of working in a job with mostly 18-20 year olds is the continual disabusion of the idea that I am not Old As Hell (TM) and so I can just embrace fully the dad aesthetic.
Was on a video call today with newly hired analysts and had the crushing realization that they're closer to my kids age than mine. Like... a lot closer.

Stop trying to Milkshake Duck the *checks notes" 79-year old Refugee from the Nazis who was imprisoned by DeSantis and abused by concentration camp guards.

YOU WANT TO WIN THE PROPAGANDA WAR YOU FUCKING IDIOTS.
I know I shouldn't swear, it is not professorial or polite, but fucking hell this administration is beyond evil. Paul Bojerski spent 7 decades here in the US, worked as an optician, and now, at the age of 79, he has been kidnapped & placed in a US concentration camp where his health is at risk.
79-year-old Paul Bojerski was born to Polish parents in a WWII German refugee camp. His family legally emigrated to the U.S. when he was 5.

He’s been taken by ICE in Florida.

I just randomly ran up on this but tbh this is the most important "hack" or piece of advice I can give to people who want to make a difference: show up to the boring stuff. That's where decisions get made, wheree people are put into place, and ultimately where votes come from or don't.
a strategy for obtaining power is attending boring meetings. it works more than you'd think!

I hope that, despite our political differences, that Sen. Fetterman has a full and complete recovery but the idea that V-fib is just a symptomatic flare rather than a life-threatening condition is ludicrous.

I promised some more science on my feed so... Here it goes.
John Fetterman was taken to the hospital after suffering from a “ventricular fibrillation flare-up” and falling near his home

Not to return to this particular well too often but this is all the more reason why anything this guy builds or renames must be razed or rebranded. Everything he does is a vanity project and the US Government doesn't exist to immortalize individuals.
“This is the legacy Trump wants. He’s trying to engrave his name on the Kennedy Center, visas, savings accounts, and anything else he can soil. But his real legacy will be the people he betrayed or neglected in pursuit of his vain and vulgar notion of immortality.”

So many swirling thoughts about this but the one I can't escape is, if you are so GD mentally soft that you can't handle a few years in a job where you disagree with your boss, then good riddance.

I am still, somehow, surprised daily about how much of the opposition are gutless cowards.

By any proper definition of rights this guy should be excommunicated from polite society.
Michael Wolff stood by for a DECADE with evidence that Epstein and Trump were pedophiles and did NOTHING.
Wolff: I was trying to encourage Epstein to use what information he had—let Trump publicly tell a lie then expose the lie. Epstein was afraid of Trump. In the end, I think he was starting to get to this point that he might publicly talk about this relationship but then he was arrested and died.

Look, ibuprofen isn't going to touch a couch burn that bad, especially not in such a.... sensitive area.
JD Vance calls ibuprofen "useless medication" and implies it's not "necessary, safe and effective."

Most local parties are run by people who've done the job for years because no one stepped up. So step up.

Be authentically you. Speak to your community.

There is a MASSIVE leadership vacuum at the local level almost everywhere outside major cities. Fill it.

In my old town the GOP had run basically without serious challenge for decades. A bunch of us "millennials" joined the local Dem party and basically asked to help.

We were running it in a year. Within 4 years we had a majority of town seats flipped Dem. A FAR more progressive Dem than old party
“Rather than taking over the Democratic Party the same way the right took over the Republican Party, we should take the easier route and just start up a new party ourselves!”

I’m about to fill my pockets with stones and walk into the sea.

The Mayor of New York only makes $260k. I bet there are police that make more than that in NY with overtime.

We need to pay elected leaders more money and stop pretending it's some sort of calling. They're managing hundreds of billions of dollars in investments and millions of people's lives.
